AQA Product Design A-Level Revision

Does anyone the best way to revise Product Design, my teacher has not taught me anything for the whole of Yr12, as there are other issues going on I am having to focus more on the theory so that I am able to still do well for the exam.
I have the textbook, however it does not help at all.
I have tried past exam papers, they don't help much at all.
I have tried to speak to my teacher, however they just said, "look it up online" and things along the lines of that as well.
Please help me, I am starting to panic because I have already had to drop an A-Level due to mental health issues and I need to do well on my other 2 A-Levels.
Sorry to hear that you are struggling :hugs:

One of the best ways is to just take notice of your surroundings, look at products around you and ask yourself the following questions:
1)What is it made from
2)How was it made e.g what processes
3)Why was it made e.g what function does it fulfil, what problems does it solve?

This is a good way to increase your product knowledge and the knowledge of the manufacturing processes is takes to create these things.

Some good resources in order of complexity and study level are here:

https://www.technologystudent.com/
https://roymech.org/
https://www.stem.org.uk/audience/secondary-design
https://www.globalspec.com/

If you dont understand a process e.g die casting then if you type the process into youtube there are always really good videos on it, personally i find watching something much easier to understand than when it is written down

I have some notes from when i was doing A-level, if you tell me which topics you are particularly stuck on i will see if i have that and if so i will post it in this thread for you.

This is literally me right now. I'm in Yr 12 and my teachers have taught me absolutely nothing. I have 2 teachers and one of them isn't even a product design teacher! I am just wondering as you are probably in yr 13 right now and even finished your product design a level how it was?
Same here really, we teachers don't really teach us much they just give us the textbook and expect us to know everything from it because apparently it's 'common sense'. I think depending on the exam board you are doing there might be some textbooks but you are probably done with your A-levels anyways.

I’m in year 12 at the moment and I’m literally in the same situation😭 one of my teachers even wrote some of the stuff in the ocr design and technology book but she’s so bad at teaching. And I have my mocks in 2 days and I haven’t even started revising because I don’t know where to start or what to even do. I never took GCSE product design and I’m terrible at maths so I’m already struggling as it is. But I’m going to fail so bad in my mock💀
