Yup I believe they are the same thing in terms of UCAT.

Some places use a UCAT threshold as the minimum score you must achieve to be considered, and anybody below this is automatically rejected, but above it, applicants are ranked, eg Sheffield has a thrshold of 2420, but the cut off last year was 2740; Barts have a 3rd decile threshold, but use UCAT and UCAS points to work out a score; Keele have a UCAT threshold and do not use it above this. Some seem to use the 2 interchangeably
