Not sure

But your first step should be to speak to your local council/authority

and then perhaps Citizens Advice etc

Not sure you're probably entitlted to income support and child benefits (though I think everyone gets them) but like crumblencustard your best off asking the CAB.

Get your mum to have a look at these, and use the online calulators:

https://secureonline.dwp.gov.uk/csa/v2/en/calculate-maintenance.asp

http://benefitsadviser.direct.gov.uk/

This one looks good:

http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/JCP/Customers/WorkingAgeBenefits/Dev_015271.xml.html

Call 0800 055 6688 (8am - 6pm Monday to Friday).

Hope that helps

The CAB give free, confidential advice. I presume they'd rather speak to your mum herself than you, though.

I agree with above poster. Call up your local council or visit their website and make sure you are getting what you're entitled to. I think she is entitled to child benefit and child tax credit for you (at least my mother gets this). It all depends on your situation though.

Citizens Advice Bereau is probably you're best point of contact.

Jobcentre

Council Offices too.

If she isn't in work she is entitled to; a rent rebate, council tax rebate, income support, child benefit and child tax credit
Speaking from experience not certani if it'll be the same for your mam, but my mam is an unemployed single parent with one child too  you need to speak to the job center and council office
