SNOW =D As long as I can get in to hand in my Sociology Essay tomorrow (it's already late!) I will be happy! Rest of stuff I might miss to go shopping for some snow boots =D
Also I want it to be fine for my friend from Edinburgh to come visit on Thurs, don't want her to miss Frank Turner!
does anybody live in Newton Mearns and could tell me where to get off the 44A for the Asda in the Avenue? Need to go straight after uni for an interview, got 2 1/2 hours to spare but still a bit worried i won't know where to get off/snow will make me really late...

thanks, but i don't know newton mearns very well at all - i was more looking for "you go down a big hill and then there's a big tree and get off after that" or something along those lines
I agree, at least for southeners. Northern Englanders are just as hardy as the Scots with snow, but south of Leeds and it only takes a few flakes to send them into chaos.
I remember one year(this is going back almost 15 years) just when I was in 1st year at school and the snow was so bad that peoples cars were almost hidden, and there was no food in supermarkets for about 2 weeks maybe more and schools were all closed for over 2 weeks it got minimal news coverage, a year or two later it happened near London but not even in same league and it was on all major news, tv, radio and newspapers!
Thats just typical Scottish news isnt news sort of attitude lol, and I also agree with your idea on southerners.

I'm not even trying to get into uni, not that I have anything to go in for other than the library. Too icy and too cold - I went out to the supermarket earlier with three layers, scarf, hat and gloves on and was still cold. Couldn't believe people were walking around with just jumpers on My heating bill is going to be through the roof with all this time I'm spending in the flat I hate having it on during the day, but it's uncomfortably cold without.
I really am beyond desperate for the 16th to come around so I can get rid of this dissertation and go home. This term has been excruciatingly stressful and wearing and for the first time in a long time I'm quite homesick
Steps inbetween uni gardens and hetherington etc were gritted today
Just factor in the fact you will probably have some loon like me falling over (actually properly fell over outside flat today... )
Ah that's good
And I bet you're not the only one who fell! I'm expecting I will too. Although I'm going to wear my hiking boots. I don't care if they look stupid, they're nice and warm and actually have grip which is more than can be said for any of my other shoes!

I was wearing my worker boots, shall be in wellies tomorrow!
I blame the fact I was carrying a lot of bags, hence balance was thrown off!
