Slow progress then

By the end of 4 years we'll see how you've done! Just think, next year you'll have all the freshers to prey on :colone: :colone: :colone:

And hopefully a local flat to take my prey back to :daydreaming:

Ah the advantages of a local flat :hubba:
Original post by G8D
Do you really want to publicise your use of your flat? REEEALY?

My flat isn't exactly local :P I ended up at caincross one point this week, finding my way to uni in the snow was TRICKY!

Oh yeah, can't remember when it was but I was in Champion's bar, playing pool with a mate when I overhead this group chatting LOUDLY over by the sofas. One girl was screeching on like "How all the guys she sleep with are bastards" :lolwut:. What a tool.

the guys next to the windows and gambling machines?
they were such cocks they just started shouting and chanting for what appeared to be no reason leading us to decide that they must have been GU regulars

I'm still annoyed that the either the barman made no effort to call out my mates name for our turn on the pool table - or someone scrubbed out his name on the list

anyone else go to cheesy pop/?

great night but some random people kept giving me wedgies? :colondollar:

I went last week and it was a good night but there were a couple of idiots fighting on the dancefloor. What I couldn't believe was that one of the doormen stood there watching it and let me and a couple of other guys break it up without stepping in to do anything about it. This was after they made me empty all of my pockets and patted me down looking for weapons at the door.

Aside from that; I thought it wasn't too bad for a student's union friday night.
I still haven't been to cheesy or quids...

But mind you living in centre means can go out there and walk home rather than having to pay for a cab...

TBH my favourite thing about it is that you can stay up in Jim's (or in my case Champion's) as long as you want without having to worry about going to a club afterwards if you fancy it. Also since I usually start about 7 or 8 it's free hooray
It's why I love Karbon too, all clubs should have pubs attached.

Yeah, this is a great idea. The other thing is that even if you go down to the dance floor, you can take a break and go upstairs for a chat rather than stand by the side of the dance floor shouting at your mates.

Hmmm true, but I just normally pre-drink with my mates at flats (£2 aldi bottle of wine, perfect!)

If we are at art school it does have a bar downstairs, ABC has a couple of bars, Kushion you do get the "shouting at your mates" issue unless you head outside, same with Buff Club and Bamboo...

This is true. And the cheap red at Aldi is pretty palatable too.

I used to pre-drink at home a lot
Then we'd go out and it'd be too late to get in anywhere as we were terrible for leaving in time when we were happily enjoying a booze up.
So we just go to the pub.
Plus the QM is literally a stones throw from the Maths building so it makes sense

I prefer the rosé

Aha we quite often head out at about midnight! Still get a good 3 hours clubbing in...

music is too **** these days to go out for 3 hours
i remember back in the day i could happily stay in a club from 11-4 (when they were opened that late) but now if i go at 12 i'm bored by 2
maybe the DJs have just got worse, but i feel as if i've been listening to the same song for the whole time, there's no variety anymore
though it's harsh of me to tar them all with the same brush, i hardly ever go out anymore
Original post by G8D
I termed them ass-holes, but I find this hard to believe considering how many there are... :erm:

Not that many

3 of them I'm still good friends with. 4 of them I don't know at all, so they can't be ass-holes cos I was using them just as much as they were using me. 1 was a bit of a dick. 1 just isn't my type. 1 was an ass-hole. 1 I can't work out which guy I'm missing on my list, so I assume he was nice...

It's all stuff you hear 24/7 on the radio, despite the fact DJ releases are months in advance...

Me and my mates have resolved to "spread our wings" so to speak, try out alternate places. We are/are nearly 20 and haven't ventured outwith the main Garage/O'Couture [worst club in town]/|Viper/Kushion/Bamboo etc places. We haven't even ventured into Karbon in ages, or Octo....

Never been to Karbon or Octo

Avoid O'Couture like the plague...been once, truly shocking.
Refuse to go to Garage (Ned heaven!)
Viper is just too small (though I've heard it's better since the re-design!)

However I hold a soft spot in my heart for Kushion, Bamboo, ABC and Art School. Kushion on a Tuesday is always good fun (dancing on the benches is a must!), Bamboo on a Saturday offers cheap drinks compared to most places, ABC is just so large that if there is a creeper you can avoid them, plus good dancing opportunities, Art School is just Art School, unlike anywhere else, not likely to know the music, but it's awesome in it's own way!
