We got our 6am delivery at like 11 on Sunday :ahee:

Good thing there weren't many customers, otherwise we'd have 15 cages just sitting about not doing much.

That would've really scunnered yous if it had been busy.

Unless we got one yesterday (which I really doubt, but I'll find out for sure tonight) we've missed at least four. Yesterdays was due to be 19 cages, which is insane for us.

*feels all insignificant for not having a job*

If you can afford it, that's the best way tbh. I was forced back to work due dwindling funds/overdraft limit.

Ah but I miss my job back home :frown: Much as I would complain about having to go in, there was always a great amount of satisfaction in finishing a shift! I might go job hunting next term
Tried Silverburn? I got my animal ones for t in the park from cottsworld or whatever it's called. (doubt it's caleld that lol!)

Lol demand for wellies.

People who don't work part time are lazy bastards! end of!
Suppose I can't talk with both of my exams having been postponed, but really - do these students not study at all? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Glasgow-Uni-Occupied/133691460021139

If you can find me somewhere that will give me a job i will happily take it. I've done application after application and interview after interview and still not got anywhere.

Mmm, I've got most jobs I've applied for. Though I understand it can be quite difficult to get a job atm. It's people who just sit on their arses all day that annoy me and expect their mum and dads to give them pocket money. If I didn't have a job I wouldn't be able to survive!

I got my current job after writing three times to the company lol. :colondollar:

Depends really, on the degree and the person. If your only commitment is Uni (e.g you're not a sports player to any real level, not an organiser for a society or whatnot) and your degree only asks 120 credits of you per year (unlike a lot of joint degrees which are 130) then yeah you will have time to work. If you don't have to work, though, I don't see the point. I work to live, not the other way around.

I really wouldn't work if I didn't have too, I can't train as much as I like and a lot of my work is rushed, I find it hard to keep on top of reading for my subjects and my social life is hard work. Compared with last year, when I didn't work, where I got back to match sharpness within a few weeks (after a 3 year break...) 'cos I could train near constantly, where all my tutorials where thoroughly prepared for and I didn't score lower than a B, whilst still going out twice a week? A no-brainer for me what's the better choice.

Yeah... unless you do law or other nonce subjects, in which case HAVING to put in full-time hours would be laughable.

Are you not an engineer doing a degree that is much, much better provided for across the city?

Sorry if I don't really rate your criticism :colondollar:

Absolutely.

I managed to live off SAAS money and my overdraft. Plus working full-time during the summers.

The way I see it, if you're not putting full-time hours into your degree during the semester, you're not doing it right - at least, in the important years.

Some people aren't entitled to bursaries. The loan I'd get is just laughable.

Well maybe you just need to be more organised Anthony.

I bought my wellies in September, they were something ridiculous like £7, best purchase of the year :awesome:

Wouldn't be surprised if everywhere was sold out; my work hasn't had a delivery for the past week and a half- 4/5 deliveries canceled because the snow is turning motorways into car parks.

We were due a delivery today but I dunno how it went. We're nearly all out of plastic bags too which is a pain in the ****.

There's only so many hours in the week. If you can train 5 times (and play once!), read a thousand-odd pages, work 18 hours and still get to the pub on Friday, give me a shout
Original post by G8D
£700 or there abouts?

I didn't even bother taking that. I hate the way SAAS works :/

I don't want to be in debt anyway lol plus for the most part I like my job (apart from the gossiping etc) i've made some good friends out of it. Last year I think I would have probably killed myself out of boredom if I didn't have a job because we only got 9 hours teaching a week (including tutorials!) This year I'm at university everyday and I can see the work getting harder but I just need to be more organised and keep on top of my work... or drink lots of red bull like I do atm..

I work 18 hours, I thought you did like 12?
Reply 2197
I concur wholeheartedly.
I play football twice a week (to keep fit more than anything), work 2-3 days a week and spend about 2.5 hours of every day on my daily commute.
Finding time to actually rest is at a premium since I need to spend every free waking hour studying.
Even last year when I managed to get to the pub every Friday is near enough impossible now, once a month is more like it

If I had the money to not work I certainly wouldn't even consider it

Aye but you don't do the rest, eh?

Nah, I work 10 hours on a Sunday, then 2 or 3 Mon/Wed/Fri depending if I'm opening or closing.
