I was in earlier today for the first time in weeks. I can never concentrate in the library - I work much better here in my room. Plus getting there after noon I can never seem to find a desk.
I've never left the place unless its to eat or sleep. Should be on level 10 right now, just heading back now that I've finished lunch!
There's not much point in me going to the library to revise - everything I need is in my textbooks, right here in my bedroom, and the library is 25 minutes walk away.
Anyone want to adopt a homeless me who was messed around by her ex-flatmate friend? :ninja:

Ohh what happened? Was it just her you were sharing with?

We were thinking about inviting someone else to share with us too but she was the one who said she 'knew someone'. I'm so mad cos I had another bunch of girls that I was supposed to share with and I ditched them for her cos we got on better. They signed the lease for their flat the day before she called me to say I'd have to make other plans. GRRR!

That's rubbish :erm: Was it quite confrontational or are you just silently fuming? I hope things wind up okay, I knew somebody going into second year who was destined to be homeless until the month before she went back to uni!
I'm silently fuming because it wasn't her fault at first but the way she's acted after has been really immature. So yeah...funtimes when she gets back here! She was supposed to be back on wednesday and i was hoping we could sort something then but now she's not coming back until next week and didnt bother telling me until i called! Gah.
I now only go to the library to get books or to print stuff off. Level six is my home, and I have a holiday home in the short loan section. I can't concentrate in the library, and if you're not there stupidly early you won't be getting a seat. So, I go to my department's computer room and work in there.
Is it really that packed?

I can't work in the library either. Mostly cos I just can't work at all.
^^ Yes. It is really that packed. I think any time after 10.30 means you won't get a computer, at least on level 6.
Yep, despite its size if you get there after 11ish you won't get a computer. I was in this morning at about 10.30 and there weren't a lot left.
I never bother going in between 11 and 5 because you usually can't get a seat anywhere. Luckily my department has its own computer room and if I want to just do some book work I go into my lab room.
11? I've been there at 9am the last four days, and tables, let alone computers, have been like hens teeth. Fingers crossed the weekend wont be so bad...

I've found that the weekends are not usually as bad, but with exams fast approaching you can never be sure.

The library is a nightmare at this time of year. Most of the time I don't need a computer, but they've taken all the tables away and replaced them with computers. And people who go off leaving their computers for ages, just don't even get me started!

Thank god for having a department room!
I've been in at 9 every day this week until 5 (6 yesterday) so I can get a booth for studying. I'm so exhausted though so I am studying at home today.

Exams Monday and Tuesday, better go bury my nose in some books.
Indeed- it was actually ok this morning, infact there might even be some space on the annex still left. I've exams monday tuesday, but my head is positively bursting with useless knowledge about the economic recovery plan for the Highlands. Grrrr.
My first exam isn't until the 12th, so it's not too bad for me.

wow, people in the library on saturday morning. thats almost guilted me into doing some work today. But first exam is also not till the twelth so im not revising on weekends just yet. Then i'll try the old putting a fake "out of order" sign on a computer the night before.

kinda a followup to stace's question but its not weird to not have your flat for next year sorted out by now is it?

I've done a bit of looking but nothing serious yet. My last exam is on the 16th so I'm going to get it sorted between then and going home at the beginning of June.
By the way, it may be a stupid question, but what do people who have flats for next year do over the summer with them? If people have got them sorted are they going to be paying rent over the summer, even if they're not there?
One of the flats I've enquired about basically told me I'd have to pay the rent over the summer or come back in august in the hope that no one else had taken it.
