P.s. I'm such a lurker in here... I feel like I've never properly introduced myself... apparently I just come in and ask for favours!

I'm Lauren, I'm in 1st year at Glasgow Uni (obvs!) and I'm 24. I do English Lit, Scottish Lit and History of Art.

Okay, I'll send it to you later when I find my cord to link phone to pc

I'm Emily, First year (age 18) Eng Lit, Eng Lang and Sociology

Hey, does anyone know if you can do more than 4 level 2 courses in 2nd year, instead of doing the usual 4 level 2 and 2 level 1? (worth 20 credits each)

:colone:
Maybe a stupid question, but is it OK to join GUSA 4 months into the year? :o:
I didn't join this year because tbh I didn't use the facilities enough last year with a full membership and then before Christmas I was laden down with dissertation work - I figured I'd just pay the odd times I went. But over Christmas I did loads of swimming back home and signed up to do the Great North Swim in June. Now I think it'd be worth getting membership again for the Stevenson Building. Is it out of the ordinary to pay for membership (£40) so far into the year? I noticed on the website it says "Normal membership year runs from 1 October - 30 September" :dontknow:

It's sound, half my mates did it last year to play in the football.

Doesn't get any cheaper, or any longer, though.

Lmao +1 tomorrow when I've got rep.

I can expect people to watch NED's and start asking questions whether it is real.

It was filmed in my school.

Yes
I'm pretty certain there's no restrictions to the number of credits you can do, as long as it's OKed by your adviser.
One of my friends did something like 210 credits in 3rd year, 120 in Physics, plus German and Classics (Ancient Greek History or something)

Also you don't have to do any level 1 courses in 2nd year - I did 6 10 credit level 2 maths courses plus one level 2 60 credit physics course
In fact, I'd say it's more uncommon to do a level 1 class in 2nd year than to do just level 2.

But then again maybe it differs across departments

I was wondering this too, so thanks. I'm not sure whether to do Level 2 German or Level 1 in something else (probably Social and Economic History or Central and East European studies). Although I think I might have to take Level 1 Scottish history - you need to do one course in scottish history to do single honours history, and while I'm planning on doing History and Philosophy JH, I'd prefer to keep my options open.

hey i saw that song i remember now
though i spent the majority of the song wondering what on earth "b***" stood for at the start of the song
fortunately my friend is a huge **** music fan so he was able to inform me that it was simply missing a star

Ah thanks. That what I was thinking but the last time I met my advisor she said to think about what other subject to take at level 1 next year...which is just not happening. I want to do 5 level 2 courses next year and 1 level 1 one from the subjects I want to take to honurs, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't make you do another subject if you just want to focus on the ones you're doing for honours. HOPEFULLY.

I'm pretty certain they just advise you to take a level 1 course because you only need so many credits at level 2 so there's no point doing a harder course if you don't HAVE to.
Because Physics 2 is a 60 credit course I basically HAD to do 120 level 2 credits, whereas a lot of science students just do ExCos in 2nd year because it's really easy and thus lets them focus on the subject they actually want to do

Well it wasn't the worst of the night anyway
I was stuck behind a pillar so i couldn't see the stage most of the time, so i had to suffer only being able to listen to karaoke.
ugh
I'm quite annoyed they removed my email address lol. If i choose to make it public, why do they feel the need to remove it?

I have issues with authority lol :P especially unwarranted authority!

Don't worry, I've got it memories  it's not exactly tricky to work out from your username!

I'll send it before going out tonight

Thanks so much!

And yeah, it's just my username (but with an underscore between the words) and then your usual hotmail.com!

Was everyone happy with their exam results? I'm still waiting on one and I'm going round the twist!
