You're making me feel so :smug:

Don't get too smug... doesn't mean I have a high opinion of law :P

Aye I get a complex because everyone hates lawyers and in an anarchist world (ideal <3 ) I would be useless. Although feck being a medic, I want to design things...

A lawyer who wishes there was no rule of law... To be fair I feel the same sometimes studying politics.

Is IPL a second semester course though?
I am really keen on the semester abroad..

First semester, so you would be doing (if you followed the 'standard' route)

1st Semester:

Law and Govt.
Juris
Tax (although, think they are replacing that with 'Ethics', what tomfoolery')
Property Law
IPL

2nd Semester:

Property
Bus Orgs

Hmmmmmm I see, so it wouldn't get in my way if I did it in 3rd year?

I've heard semester 1 of second year is the hardest part of the degree overall, agree?

Tbh, don't take my word for it just email your adviser. 3rd year you pretty much have a free hand as long as you don't have any degree/diploma pre-requisites to pick up.

And yeah, agree wholeheartedly, although for not-wholly academic reasons I'm finding this year a struggle too.

Don't worry, it won't go to my head.

I don't think I'm better than you, or anyone, based on degree choice (unless you do drama/history of art).

Good good ;D Can't have any degree snobbery... unless we're talking Film & TV or Art History.

Degree snobbery is brilliant. I've found labeling civil engineers 'cement technicians' gets them really wound up

I'll have to use that one if I ever befriend an engineer. Pretty unlikely, but life is full of surprises.

'Confusing' Physics and Astronomy with Xcos works a treat as well.

First bus is £1.80 for any journey within the city limits (Faifley - ie. Clydebank - and Paisley to the west, Baillieston to the East, Milngavie and Bishopbriggs north and Newton Mearns/East Kilbride south)

It makes quite a nice circle if you look at the city on the map

to think it used to be 65p when I started high school, in 7 years it's gone up by £1.15

thats in increase of 16.4p per year :fyi:

our course is the opposite, in 3rd year we get raped with coursework until the procrastinating students capitulate and half the class drops out

this is probably the look on the lecturers face when they see the list of drop outs at the end of the year >:colone:

I don't think it's too bad actually.
But that's because a single to Central costs me £3.20 and the underground £1.20

Admittedly I'll always get returns at £6 (if I don't already have a zonecard) but considering I can drive from my front door to University Gardens in 20 minutes in quiet traffic it's quite steep IMO...

£80 a month for unlimited bus/train/subway from my house to Glasgow :pierre:

Aye same for me (78.50 to be exact) but let's take April for example.
I bought my zonecard for this month and have used it about 3 times (through the luck of my dad being in Turkey for work leaving an unused car about, decreases journey time & means I'm not limited to leaving at half 10 for the last train).

What a waste of money.
But I only have to use it 13 times essentially (out of 28 days) to get my moneys worth because the price of travel without one is so damn high, so it's lunacy not to buy one
SPT travel really is a joke.

Subway is a dump.
Buses are overpriced.
Train is a dump.

Having said that, I live in town so I don't know why I'm complaining :h:.

I also remember when a half single used to cost 45p and then an adult single cost 95p!

I used to get half singles for 30p back from school, 25p if I got off a stop early :frown:
I think the bus is a dream! Stops right outside my house and right outside uni! A lazy buggers heaven! :P:
It takes me an hour and a half to get to uni every morning, yet my dad drove me there in just under twenty minutes once. Curse public transport and not living with my dad and no money for driving lessons... Definitely getting a flat for second year.

Where are you coming from?

Barrhead  So I'd want out anyway, it's a bit of a hole, and I reeeeally want to do the whole city thing for a bit before I have kids and stuff.

Original post by G8D
Similar situation for me.

Only no one to get a flat with so I'm stuck like this until at least 3rd year

Ahh bummer. Where do you live now?
Original post by G8D
Familiar with Kirky or Lenzie?

Yep  Got a friend from Lenzie. Pretty sure he's one of the people I'm living with next year actually.
