...or having to phone up the poisons bureau because someone has put an oven pizza in with the polystyrene base still attached- which then duly melted to the actual base. Easily done.

Whats not so easily done, is managing to eat the entire pizza without noticing.

90minutes down, 570 to go.

Haha you should create a thread posting these when you are working as they come through.

All in confidentiality of course  .

Haha, indeed. It's a sure fire way to get one's P45 in a hurry though... Technically, these sort of things make it out from time to time when the Ambulance Service tell of calls which waste everyone's time. Therefore, I'm (probably) in the clear. I'd need to hide behind a better username though...

I imagine it wouldn't change the taste of a dodgy 99p frozen corner shop pizza.

Wouldn't the NHS have to disclose the type of accidents they handled if somebody put a freedom of information request in? You'll probably be alright as long as there is no way anybody could be identified from what you say. Live reports wouldn't go down well I suppose. But hey, it would keep two or three people reading this entertained at 3am :p:

Probably not- it was out of Sainsburys (and on Christmas Eve), so it couldn't have been great.

With DP/FOI, the police and the NHS are exempt from having to disclose information, so in short, they could refuse to release things if they had even a semi-decent reason for it.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Not that that would stop them from leaving briefcases with sensitive information on trains or selling computers that haven't been wiped of everything on eBay...

Ah, thats usually the civil service (across the road from us) who are the kings of that particular discipline. We just specialise in taking people in for minor operations then killing them with MRSA.
Exams start today.

I'm in a similar situation, albeit I already have a job. The only problem is I'm in a predicament about finding a new place to live.
If I stay here, I can keep my job and be safe in that respect, get a new flat - but be losing money all through the summer (work won't increase my hours from 12 a week). Plus I'd be incredibly bored.
Or I could quit my job, go home for the summer and try finding a flat later in the summer and another job in September. I'd be better off financially but I wouldn't have a job in Glasgow next year.

Hello from a newbie! I just discovered this thread and hope a short and mild rant isn't too rude of me..

So still no degree exam results (for my dept at least whose exams I completed on 10th May) - what is up with the Registry this year?!? The timetable was published late and there's not even a hint anywhere on the website of when we can expect results which surely is quite an oversight.

I'm sure it was indeed a baffling ordeal for administration to transfer into a new semester system with exams in junior honours on the side - but still... teething troubles at this stage?? I really wish they'd get their act together as I'm becoming increasingly frantic about my anticipated 2:2 (which will of course lead to suicide. But not really.) after screwing up a few of my exams in a BIG way

I just kind of figured that given we started a week early this year, we might just get our results a week early which would have been last Wednesday.. And the exam period finished 22nd May and the semester officially ended on 29th May so assuming there can't still be exams going on.. anyone any ideas what the score is? Or am I just being horribly impatient and intolerant and unforgiving?

i know there are a few exams going on until june, and the exam period didn't finish on the 22nd because my last was on the 23rd...

anyway, i wouldn't have expected results to start coming for another week or so

Depends when the departmental exam board meets to ratify the results- when your exams are have little to do with it. Senior Honours History for example, meets on the 9th of June, so results go up from then. This is despite some people finishing exams on the 27th of April. For Business Management its the 12th of June- again, some people may have only been finished for three weeks by that date, others six. The exam papers will probably have been marked and cross marked by now, its just they cannot release them until the board of examiners ratifies the results.

Ah I did not know this! Thank you very much, that clears up a lot. So I guess I could just ask my Department when their date is. I just know that last year the results for my Dept were out by June 3rd.

I guess if this is common knowledge I must have been walking around with my head in my backside :s-smilie:

For everyone but second year medics. We had class until 23rd May!

The exam wasn't as horrific as it could have been, thankfully. That's the hardest stuff over with, the one tomorrow should be a bit more straight forward. We've got practical exams (OSCEs) on Thursday and Friday, then FREEDOM!!! :woo:
Got my exam results back, and not done too badly considering things. That's one weight off my shoulders at least!
Last exam today!!! :woo:
First result back today - not good  I'm actually astounded at how I did, considering I went into the exam in a strong position and thought the paper itself went OK.
Next year is going to be haaaaaaaard.
:frown: What did you get? Still doing geography?

C2. As far as I can tell I can still get into Honours with a strong performance in 3rd year but I'd have liked to be guaranteed it. I'll just have to work like **** next year.

You'll be a tracker, and so as long as you get a C in third year you'll be allowed to progress. At least that's how it's worked this year. Do you know what options you are wanting to do?

Yeah, it's the same this time around. Seems fair to be honest.

Handed form in a few weeks ago - some interesting options (I think so anyway). I'm mainly going for the human/globalisation stuff. Not a fan of the physical but I'll grin and bear it.
