People don't like smart people.

I tend to avoid telling people how well I think I've done in exams (or just outright lie) because people don't like people being smarter than them.

Think about it, it's more acceptable to say "i think i got every question wrong" than "i think i got 100%"

crazy world.

Agreed. Though I most honestly have good reasons to worry/claim low confidence since I rarely attend tutorials and I don't evwn know where lectures are held :dontknow:

It annoys me when people go on about how little they've worked when in fact they are forever studying and have hired tutors from the above years.

I know when i've done well and i'll say when I think i've done well. I'm not ashamed to say I worked my butt off in the library or to admit I neglected a subject all together. Who the **** cares what anyone else thinks.

You make your degree, you get what you put in. I'm taking 4 years and a mahoosive loan out for this degree so I think i'm entitled to spend hours working and not care if it offends anyone that I did do more hours than them. This is what you're here for so don't give me daggers because I got one of the highest marks in the year or got credit withheld for missing a whole exam :hand:

Think it's just the way you come across; people don't like you being boastful. They might not appreciate it too it if they're working their arses off and not hitting the high grades in the way you are doing. I don't think it's purely because of you are smart, it's because of the way you bring it to our attention.

Again, though, I haven't negged you so I'm only speculating. As far as I'm concerned you take pride in your work and rightly want to shout from the rooftops when you're successful. We all feel the same way about something.

Most people in my year (4th) would say Numerical Methods. The subject had a 66% fail rate in my year.

I got 120% though (yes, that's right, more than 100%).

However, back then it was taught by a different lecturer who was considerably more expectant of his pupils than the new lecturer teaching it, so I'm sure things will be different now.

Apart from that I'd say that Dynamics and Control was the most challenging for me (my worst grade that year - A4!). Just because there's quite a lot of content (20 credits, taught across both semesters), and partly because I left studying for it until very, very late unfortunately.

Then again, both structures courses are difficult simply because York is quite a bad lecturer, his notes and solutions are terrible and fraught with errors, and your entire study time is spent trying to work out where he got random numbers from.

I think quite a few things about 3rd year have changed already, even though it was only last year I done it. Different lecturer for Numerical Methods, different lecturer for Flight Mechanics (I think), you will no doubt have a different lecturer for Fluids since Prof. Galbraith is retiring this year, etc. So might not be fair to compare what you'll experience to what we experienced.

why are you getting negged for getting high grades? :lolwut:

He isn't.

Or, at least, I doubt it.

In other news, LA Noire is coming out the day after my last exam, talk about perfect timing.

Good luck to both of yous. I finished my last exam and then nearly fell asleep in my first pint, fair takes it out of you. Some of us had the sense to book a few days off

And LA Noire looks cracking, my mate is getting it for me with his discount the sly gent that he is, does mean waiting a few days. G-Force it town will sell it early if you're interested in getting it straightaway.

Thanks, I had the whole of last week off - there was no way I was going to work when I had 3 exams in 3 days. Starting back this week. My work is stingy with holidays, you get 28 days paid leave all year but you never get unpaid leave unless its an emergency. So I now have two weeks left for holidays until my next birthday.

and I've got the game preordered so it's a shame it won't be here tomorrow, but tbh I'll probably celebrate the end of exams by sitting in one place, doing absolutely **** all just for the fact that I now can.

He's not. He's being negged because he's quite obviously PerigeeApogee. I have no idea if I spelled that right and I'm not the negger either, but I suspect that may be at least part of the reason...

Absolutely over the moon with how they went given the ridiculous imbalance of credits this semester compared to last semester and given the little time I had to study because of project work!

I might just have myself a nice wee first class degree in Aeronautical Engineering   .
Anyone who stayed in halls in the first year, do we have to return the bedding pack that we were given?

Where do we return them to? Or do they pick them up from accommodation? So annoying they haven't told us anything about this...

I just left mine in my room. I think that is what the email from residential services told us to do. Have they not emailed you moving out stuff? That's annoying.

They emailed us something they had to sign to confirm we would move out, but nothing else. I'll drop them a message. Useless! Bet they'll have forgotten about all of us in non-uni accommodation but paying to the uni due to oversubscribed uni accommodation.

It's probably been asked, but is there a specific date when exam results come out, or will they just come out whenever?
