Hmm I don't know actually, never even thought of that! Maybe email and ask Dougal or something? I see him as all-knowing
Where ya wanna go?

I think he is all-knowing, he'd be the best pub quiz team-mate... I want to go to Italy though, Liguria or Sardegna then I'll just have to pick a third but I can't choose
Are you going to France or Spain?

Hell yeah, I'd wanna be on that team!
Ooh nice  Spain, not sure where yet though. I'd be happy with anywhere really

I don't know if I could afford a year abroad :cry2: How much is it?

I take it's compulsory for you as you're doing a language degree? :holmes:

(So tempted to switch to Classics for honours just so I could go to Greece/Italy for a bit :awesome:)

You need to pay your travel costs but working as a language assistant you get paid in the region of €700 per month for 12 hours' work a week. Plus, a lot of previous assistants have tutored while they're abroad and made a good bit of money from that, too. I'm going to Spain and the average flat there costs €150-€200 per month to rent so all in all not that expensive an experience!

Yeah, it is  I'm not complaining though

That would be awesome

Ahh. I think it'll be different for me if I choose to go. Nice you actually get paid

Haha, I would be absolutely mental to do that though
When I get my hair cut tomorrow should I get a) a full fringe b) below shoulder length and choppy or c) a side-fringe and keep it long?

Answers on a postcard, please :smug: (or TSR)
a cross between b and c :yep:

I'm very jealous of Spain  Hating French/the French/France in general at the moment because of the test, I know the texts ish but struggling to fit in all the rubbish about national histories and misremembering and place of gender and all the stuff I thought I could avoid after Higher English

I have to do that walk/run 3 days a week but in reverse :sadnod:

If you learn the shortcut to the library and the shortcut from library to Boyd Orr it's do-able.

I just got my hair cut and it is absolutely vile. I showed her a pic of how I had it done last time but she completely ignored it and just tried to make it as straight and thin and flat as possible. I didn't know how to make myself any clearer but she didn't understand what I wanted at all.

She's like made the left side choppy and the right side completely straight. WHAT THE ACTUAL F***? I kept saying 'please make that side more choppy' and she would snip ONE bit and go 'like that?' I just gave up and paid for the abomination.

:jumphug: that sucks :frown: I hate it when hairdressers get it wrong. That's why I never get my hair cut in Glasgow, I trust my hairdresser back home and no-one else :colondollar:

Any chance of remedying it? Go back to salon and demand someone more senior sorts it out for free.

The one on Bank Street is AMAZING but they're expensive and fully booked.

I'm in the Mitchell Library atm. I'm going to go into the toilets and try to find a mirror to see what I can do :frown:
Seriously just go back and throw a strop till they get someone else to sort it. After all they won't want customers hearing you complaining.

lol. It looks a bit better now that I've sort of run my fingers through it to give it some life ... I have this volumising hairspray that I'll use when I get home.

I really cba to go back if at all possible. Thank CHRIST I didn't ask for a full fringe from them.

Also once you've washed and dried it yourself it may look a bit better :yep:

See this is why I don't have one. No chance of me keeping it looking decent in rainy windy stuff

Yeah. My flatmate insists that it's 'lovely'. Maybe I'm just unused to having such fine hair. My hair is usually THICK. Like Chewbacca thick. But clean of course. :colondollar:

Meh, it looks reasonably tidy, it'll just have to do :sigh:

Does anyone go to the Mitchell Library to study? :beard:
