I applied yesterday morning and I'm a bit worried that my "immediate" unconditional hasn't yet arrived. Not even an acknowledgement.

I didn't apply to that department. I applied to Social Science and Science.

Not only am I not going to get my essay back until Friday afternoon, but I'm going to miss the discussion on the Comp Lit essays and exams (which was rescheduled Friday morning when I can't go) and because they can't reschedule the French quiz/ continuous assessment, they're going to let us take it unsupervised at home which means it's going to be extremely fair and absolutely nobody's going to cheat.

The Moodle would have been unsupervised anyway, unless they've changed it drastically in a year, it was always possible to do it at home. No point cheating, because when you fail miserably in May it'll be very obvious...a few people I know did and got away with it, but it's really not worth it.

They moved plenty of exams last year because of snow

O RLY? My friend did Accounting and she said they wouldn't move anything for them. Gutted.

In the grand scheme of things think of it as being insignificant. We've got education and our future to protect.

oh hey i didn't even notice this!
the university of glasgow is over 500 years old
in the grand scheme of things a few cuts will not make much of a difference
life will go on and in 500 years time they're not going to be thanking everyone that striked for saving the university regardless of the outcome
hell in 5 years nobody will care

Yeah... That snow was ridiculous though, there were people sleeping in the library because they couldn't get home, so I imagine the proportion of students who literally couldn't get there convinced them it made more sense to put it off a couple of weeks than have to try and add more days during resit time or whatever...

I'm just glad there is no sign of the snow yet this year :K:
Subway isn't running on Wednesday, my 10am start just got a bit harder to make/easier to miss...
