Most action you got all night amirite?

Random selection of club nights! First two are average at best, unless it's a special HIVe? And Subrosa or Optimo?

(Actually, Propaganda is pretty decent now I think)

I was gonna rant at you for dissing Propaganda, but your parenthesis saved you! It is very much so decent, 1,000,000 X better than Jellybaby (although that's not saying much!)

Well I'm just a naive fresher. Its the first hive back and being part of MedChir i get free entry. Propaganda is awesome ! haha. Please inform me of better clubs. Where are Subrosa and Optimo ?

I've only been once to Propaganda, a while back ( going out before a rugby match is probably not a good idea..) but I remembered I had actually been meaning to return. I thought that me being once must've meant it was pish and my recollections are hazy at best, of course.

Jellybaby has rapidly went from one of the best club nights around, if not the best, to one of the poorest due to the overcrowding and the fandan factor.

I'm also biased because my appetite for clubbing is apparently on the wane. Must be old age.

My mate took over the Minister's role in that once and married folk. Strange way to spend a night, but was very amusing. Some amount of gay marriages btw, the bridge under central may be the most forward thinking place in the world...*

The Hive is a fresher rite of passage, I'll let ye off  Subrosa** and Optimo** are at Subby, Wednesday and Sunday respectively. I'm still looking for a good night, but see above; I'm probably just getting old before my time :colondollar:

Try out One More Tune at Buff, Chambre 69 gets good reviews [standard warning about hipsters].

*No political fight intended (but come ahead ya bass etc)
**Bring your own drugs***
***Same joke twice in a day, sorry.

Ha ha oh dear, night out before rugby match defs not a good idea! Nah I love Propaganda, you'll find me there or HIVe (yes I know it's a little bit ****e, but so ****e it's good...and all my friends are there!)

My appetite for clubbing is on the wane too...and I'm only a ****ing second year. I'd much rather just go sit in the Old Schoolhouse for a few drinks or head down to The Stand :yep:

i'm getting too old for jellybaby, but by that same token i find propaganda to be far more overcrowded and populated by more ***** than jellybaby

i've found revitalised enthusiasm for clubbing in the last 6 months, I think a year of pretty much only going to cheesy pop because it was easier to get to had made me forget how to have a good time.

going to love music for the first time in exactly 364 days this coming saturday. is it still **** and £3 for a vodka?

Can anyone give me some help here. I'm a first year comp sci student and I know for sure I just want to take comp sci through as my degree. I take maths and ex cos(love it!) and in my second year I really don't want to continue the maths..

I was wondering is it possible to take level 2 comp sci and a level 1 subject in something else in 2nd year? Or do I have to take maths? Or are there other options I can take?

Thanks!

The exchange programme is so confusing. Why have I left it to the last minute? :nothing:

Ha ha I know that feeling!

Where you trying to go?

I like the idea of Aus/NZ. Also Bergen looks nice and has a good course choice.

I'm not even totally settled on going away but I want to apply so I have the option.

****. If you wanna do Aus/NZ then you need to apply sharpish. Have you got references and stuff sorted?
Original post by G8D
It's Friday even for Erasmus for me. Something to do with the law thing.

I think our reference thing is half skipped or something :s-smilie: Just need advisor of studies (who barely knows me)...

My deadline is Feb 15th thank goodness!

Wow lucky you! I need two referees from Eng Lang (which while they are super willing to do is a bit of a pain cos obvs lecturers don't really know me, and my tutors are PHD students).
Original post by G8D
Do they have to actually write you a reference or just be a name on a sheet of paper?

Actual references :afraid:
Original post by G8D
That sucks. Glasgow staff don't seem nearly involved enough to be writing something like that about most students...

The most they can really say about me is "Oh she turns up to lectures, sits with her friends, makes notes, gets good grades"

Also this Personal Statement is a bitch to write.
Original post by G8D
I may just try to repurpose some of my UCAS PS...

Mine won't fit with the points they want us to make :nah:
http://www.gla.ac.uk/media/media_216149_en.pdf

"Personal Statement (1-5 points)
Assessment criteria:
Demonstrates research into Partners Universities/Colleges
Ambassadorial qualities-ability to represent the University abroad
Extra curricular activities
Prior relevant experiences
Demonstrates real understanding and willingness for International Exchange
1 point awarded for each criteria element being present in the Personal Statement. "

****ing hell.

So unprepared.

I know that feel :console:

I'm writing mine atm, sound like Queen Cheese

Where are you applying to btw? Semester or year?

Toronto, UBC, Calgary

Full year, Eng Lang can't just do a semester :nah:
Original post by G8D
Cool. I was considering Toronto as well but I can't seem to work out what law courses are available to me...

I'd be doing just a semester as there's some good/essential for advocacy courses in 1st semester over here.

Toronto does look fabby :yep: it's so confusing trying to work it out. I'm not sure with Toronto whether I'm supposed to pick 12 courses or 7 :dontknow:

I guess with you living at home it's not too bad doing just a semester, kinda trickier with renting and stuff!
Original post by G8D
Yeah. It'd suck to go abroad and still be paying rent over here. Unless you can get a 4 month tenant..

I really like the look of Bergen. Norway is so :sogood: and they do lot's of private law stuff which I like.
It's right on the water near some mountains by the looks of it :coma:

Yeah too tricky finding a tenant like that :nah:

Tbh I didn't want to go to a country which spoke a foreign language :colondollar: I've heard Bergen is amazing though!

I'm sure you'd integrate fine! My friend went to Spain for ERASMUS, didn't speak a word of Spanish and had best time ever!
Just a bit worried about integrating though :erm:
Original post by G8D
Yeah, the courses are obviously taught in English so I just need to befriend some Norwegians doing it so they can talk for me in public :colondollar:

Thought I would try and teach myself some basics.

Well you'd have all summer and first term to learn some Norwegian so I reckon is very do-able :yep:
Original post by G8D
Yeah. I'd definitely put in the effort enough to say "no speaky Norwegian" in Norwegian.

And a few chat up lines
