i've lost my university ID and passport at Subclub and today I found out someone took out books on my library card. I've reported my card lost but what's going to happen now?

This is so wide and bizarre :lolwut:

 I'm sure they'll understand, just bring them back nice stuff and all will be forgiven

I'm glad you have faith, cheers!

Indeed, the nice stuff will totally make up for the extra money it'll cost :ninja: this all depends on me getting year abroad obv.

Course I do :yep:

That is odd! I don't think I've seen five non-macbooks in the library anywhere...

I work close to the deadline as well, I need the fear. It isn't great for planning/organising though...

Off-topic, but GU Memes has been copied by my high school and I don't know whether it's socially acceptable to 'like' a page with a target audience of 11-16 year olds....

My old high school did too, and they actually got in the paper for it, for calling teachers paedophiles and slagging off Barrhead too much :s-smilie:
Are the horrible pictures off yet? Been too scared to check...

Ach parents love to spend money on their darling children though!

Hope you get it, I regret not even applying for one :yy:

You can slag off Barrhead too much? Apart from that, that sucks. I do feel for the teachers in that situation. The ones from my school are genuinely funny, which is surprising...

And yeah, they're gone.

Indeed, and flights to Canada aren't THAT much more expensive than trains to and from Glasgow...kind of :ninja:

I really hope I get it too...no idea when I find out though so that's a weight on my mind for next week while!

There are probably better arguments to run in front of your parents, I'd keep that one in reserve

Ach do your best to forget about it. Although, I never manage to do that with exam results/job applications etc so I've no idea why I'm suggesting it!

I found a useful document which shows how much a year abroad increases employability so showed it to them. Mind you they were pretty okay with it especially as I've got some money saved and can work over the summer to earn more to help out :yep:

Ha ha I can't forget about things, doesn't work at all. Especially as the people who applied to Australia/New Zealand/California started hearing about offers this week (they had an earlier hand in deadline).

Nice one! Most of my year abroad mates have jobs lined up, for more anecdotal evidence! Once in a lifetime opportunity and all that, too.

Ach that sucks when you're the last to hear.

Exactly, plus a year when I can ski loads  (my dad loves skiing, he'll understand my reasoning) Plus the courses out there are AMAZING!

It does suck, I've emailed the lady to ask if she knows roughly when we'll hear. Cos if it's not till march I can at least relax until then.
So the recipient of this year's Critics Choice Brit award studied medicine at Glasgow Uni :lolwut:

My mind, she is blown.

So jealous. Went two ski trips in school and haven't been since :frown:

Good thinking!

The Times' paywall went down last night for a while and there was FREE Caitlin Moran. I came here to tell you but the server was down...

Skiing is the best! I got ski boots for Christmas 2 years ago and still haven't had the chance to use them due to lack of funds for uni ski trip! Keep on meaning to go to Braehead and give them a spin!

Aww thank you. I managed to read her article on benefits the last time the paywall came down though :hugs:
Got my late result and passed last semester with a B average. Reasonably happy as it's a step up from last year's poor results.

If the trend continues I stand a chance of getting a reasonably good honours grade.

Also, study abroad apps were returned to people that got out of Erasmus places and those studying law with languages but not us normies

I don't know whether you'll be different to me but for me I'm hearing back in 2-3 weeks, they said roughly start of march
Nah we were meant to hear like 2 weeks ago.

They had some issues with Spanish connections (though this would appear to be sorted now, still nothing for us )

:console: tough times :frown: hopefully you'll hear soon! After phoning the international office thing to find out when they'll be back I've decided I don't need to start constantly refreshing my inbox until a week and a half's time.
Every email notification for the past week on my phone has been teasing me :nothing:

:jumphug: hate it when that happens SO much.
So....I'm going to be a postgraduate at Glasgow next year. Does anyone have any advice about finding a flat in Glasgow? I want a one bedroom place nearish to the uni.
