Hey one and all!

I hope you're all enjoying this very "un"-scottish weather!!
I was just wondering whether anyone could tell me where my friend and i could find a beach near glasgow? :colondollar:

Ayr, or Largs.

Neither that near. I would always pick Largs purely because it's not in Ayrshire.

Who's the Ayrshire one? Come on, give me a high six?

Irvine has the best beach around that area IMO

I've got 4 exams in 2 days. Does anyone have the link to the registry site stating you should not have more than 3 exams in 2 days. I can't seem to find it.

If so it there anything that can be done about it?

Thanks.

Yeah, I've emailed them over a week ago. Still waiting for a response. Don't think I can do much about it though!

It will be in the Calendar, under the section 'General information for students'. It will most likely be worded in an 'aspirational' way rather than any binding commitment, however, it may still be worth emailing your academic tutor or going to see someone in the registry in person.

I'm OK, thanks :colondollar: Apparently I was dehydrated. I wasn't even thirsty though :erm:

I have never blacked out before, I kept coming round and passing out again :cry2:

Hi!
I have firmed Glasgow for september and i cant wait to go there BUT is it true that it is very cold in student halls...?A girl told me that the heating does not work all the time and as a result she is freezing to death in her room:eek:.
I've got an unconditional offer to study economics/business management at University of Glasgow this fall. However, I want to study economics/mathematics instead. I have pretty good grades in math.
What is the best way to change my degree? Try to email glasgow now or wait 'til fresher week?

Just wait until Freshers week. You have to study three subjects in first year anyway, so in all likelyhood you can do economics/business management/mathematics (unless the lectures clash, economics and maths certainly don't, I'm unsure about business management), then drop one as you go into second year
Hey guys.
i'm applying for accommodation atm and could do with some help  I will be studying veterinary and I am currently putting Wolfson single as my first choice, the prices are ridiculous and it will be hard to afford them but its an extremely handy 10 minute walk to the vet school. I have 5 more choices left and have no idea about distances between the other choices and vet school. Can anybody give me an idea please ? Thanks
does anyone know when the freshers week start this year? when are we allowed to move in?

I think in first year economics and business management are just Economics 1A/B anyway

Mind last year there was that poster who didn't want to attend graduation? I'm pretty sure I was one of the ones who rounded on him and, equally, I'm pretty sure I'm in his position now. What was the script with the process he went through, anyone remember?

EDIT: His position as I can't be arsed with the ceremony, not that I've got a fistful of A1s and am pissing off to Strathy to do a PhD.

You have to register to graduate by handing in a form with various details and giving the uni £50 or £60 to 'join the general council'. This is usually during late April or May. Somewhere on the form is an option to graduate in absentia, which allows you to graduate without receiving the degree at the ceremony. Your degree transcript will be posted after the date of the ceremony (some people I know didn't get them for a couple of weeks).

With the introduction of Mycampus, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried doing it electronically this year like the registration process.....
They emailed everyone about graduation in previous years, plus there was detailed information on the graduation section on the registry website.

Cool, cheers!

I saw a form for Spring In Absentia graduations on the website, but the closing date was tomorrow and the parchment was to be posted out in May. Bearing in mind I (and the Uni) probably won't even know if I have got a degree in May (my last exam being the 16th) I didn't think that was what I was after. I couldn't see anything else about in absentia graduations.

Guess it's a case of waiting and seeing.

Spotted it on the website now. Sound.
