Hey guys. i'm applying for accommodation atm and could do with some help I will be studying veterinary and I am currently putting Wolfson single as my first choice, the prices are ridiculous and it will be hard to afford them but its an extremely handy 10 minute walk to the vet school. I have 5 more choices left and have no idea about distances between the other choices and vet school. Can anybody give me an idea please ? Thanks
QM/Winton drive is on the borderline of being walkable (30-40mins) and is fastest by bike and pubic transport (along Great Western Road. There are a few that go right past the vet school on the way to Bearsden, other you'll need to get off at Anniesland Cross and walk the rest of the way along Bearsden Road.) Murano Street is takes longer and involves a bus journey along Maryhill road and then walking through the Garscube (and Wolfson hall) complex.
I would avoid Cairncross at all costs, due to the difficulty of travelling.
Yeah well we're told you don't have to make final decisions until near the end of second year, so you can take maths, economics and another subj in first then, then in second year maths, economics and either part of another subject or extra maths (most people have 2, but economics has 40 level 2 credits compared to most subjects 60, with maths offering 80, 20 of which aren't needed for entry into level 3). You'll get an advisor anyway and they will help you out in deciding which path to take
I quite enjoyed fourth year! Although I did burst out laughing the other day remembering how I went into one of my finals only having revised two topics...probably for the best they came up really.

Nice one, I occasionally fancy I would want to do one of those, but again I'm not so sure it's for me.
That is horrendously good fortune! Two topics, and I'm assuming it was a 3-question paper?!
I'm enjoying the studying part of fourth year, as sad as it sounds. It's good to be studying areas of the law to this level. I am not enjoying the slash-and-burn effect it has had on every other area of my life...

A masters is only useful if you have a clear idea of why you're doing it. Everyone in the profession will tell you not to do it however, so you need to be sure of yourself.
It was a six question exam. Still remember turning over the page finding the question I needed and thinking 'won't have to fake that heart attack then'.

What kind of areas are you doing?
I was going to say that everyone I had spoken to had cautioned against it! You're obviously sure you're getting out of it what you want!
Haha, indeed! I had meant an 'answer 3 questions' exam, sorry. All of my honours ones have been/will be in that format. Although not as dodgy as 3 answers for 6 questions I don't think.
Corporate/Commercial/Competition mainly, although I have my hand in a couple of public international areas if I fancy changing tack.
Hi! I have firmed Glasgow for september and i cant wait to go there BUT is it true that it is very cold in student halls...?A girl told me that the heating does not work all the time and as a result she is freezing to death in her room.
I had the opposite problem, it was boiling most of the time, way too warm!
The Glasgow accent? You may have moved to the wrong city.
NOOOO I love the Glasgow accent, I mean the infamous GLASGOW UNI ACCENT.
The wannabe transatlantic accent that pollutes the library because oh my God you guys so yeah like I like totally couldn't like find a computer and I like had to go through like all twelve floors and I was like so totally mad I mean geez but then I found one and it was awesome and I deserve to be shot in the face.
EDIT: Actually I should have put some question marks in there because every ****ing statement is spoken like a question.

I have never heard of this accent. You know when they say that everyone has one friend that goes too far and if you don't you're that friend? I feel like this accent may be that for me.

Yes. I know what you speak of. The accent that makes you want to kill the speaker.
