I love those prices, although the Hive will probably not be an option for me next year due to an early Friday start

Still, will be brilliant for the football.

That's the fun of Thursday nights. Having to get up for 9am lectures the next day :yep:

Which I do have. Every. Single. Day.

I had Fridays off all last year and so far I don't think I have anything on a Friday this year either. :woo:

I'm in complete agreement with you mate - that makes any night out fun! :p:

Although I'll probably need the few 10am starts (and a 2pm start if I'm in at all on a Monday!! :eek3:) I get a week to recover - I've seriously lost my touch with partying. Only had 4 pints and a vodka/Coke on Wednesday night at the Arches and I woke up with a headache for at least an hour - mind you, I did only get 4 hours sleep, but it was no different to last year! :frown:

I'm immune to hangovers I believe, the only thing that gets me is a lack of sleep.
Vodka is the only drink that gives me real headbusters, and after a harrowing incident (I did quite a lot of shots, lost all awareness of where I was, woke up the next morning with no memory of how I got there, followed up by the most agonising 48 hours of my life...), in 1st year I don't touch the stuff anymore. Even the smell of it is enough to start my stomach screaming.
I can't do shots of vodka. *shudder* It's bad enough when it's lightly mixed but it's cheap!

Cider doesn't seem to give me hangovers but as it's fizzy and involves so much liquid, it can make me feel sick easily!

Jagermeister definitely makes me feel rough, even if I haven't been that drunk. It must be true about dark spirits being worse for hangovers.

I need to find a new drink...vodkas not that nice and I don't like rum. Things like VK are so insanely fizzy I feel I'm about to burst after 2!

Only Tuesdays and Thursdays for me until Semester 2. I do, however, have the old timer's joy of having a dissertation to write.

Oh, story time is it?? :p:
I don't really get hangovers

Just fecking flu.

GAH! I've been stuck in bed since Tuesday night :emo:
YAY! I'm back in Glasgow again! Going to be such a good year!
I was in the library today and the place was really quite busy. I don't want to graduate next year!
For Prescribed Reading, do you really need to buy the books or would taking them out of the library be enough?

The library. Every time. Don't buy books when you don't have to.

That's a relief! - my mum had said they were compulsory to buy, but all the law textbooks at £30 a pop times at least 6 did not sound good!

Nah, I'm going in to my final year of a geography degree and have only ever bough one book (£6.99). Everything else I get from the library.

I bought them all. Pain in the arse, but if you've got the cash I'd do it, it's useful to have them as and when you need them. It is enough just to take them out the library though, for tutorials. Only problem I can see is if there is a high demand for a certain book.

And if you think £30 is bad, wait 'til you hit 2nd year- Orange and Yellow Tax handbook £65- and that's a special student discount price!

Well, the contract law in Scotland is *only* £80 (I've been investigating further since my first comment!). Unfortunately most of the library's copies of the books we need are in the short loans as well...

That is a good thing. Means you're more likely to get it if you need it. And you can always photocopy the bits you need.
I think if you're going into first year you really need to put things into perspective and get your priorities sorted ie not worrying about prescribed reading lists  Nah, your main concern should be who's going to be providing you with the suspiciously long cigarettes. :p: :p: :p:

Too right mate, and you're gonna get a lot more out the books if you are reading them with open mind, i.e taking a toke on certain substances every few pages or so :woo: :woo:

I'm finding it hard working getting through any book on list ATM cause I'm really getting into Hurt/Comfort fics.

At college I'd normally pop a few on USB stick and have cheeky read whilst we was in some of the quieter classes, never did me any harm !:eek3: :eek3: !
