Physics isn't too bad.
Maths is hell.
CS is fairly boring.

Cheesy Pop is awesome. I've spent a few nights there in the DJ booth now.

I loved CS, maths though.... shudder at the thought of doing it..

How much is the gym membership? And how much are martial arts classes memberships?
I seen something that said £50 per year but I'm not sure what it was encompassing

My sister is, but she's at Edinburgh. Did you intercalate or are you just trying to find out any medics on tsr ?

I did pre-clinical at St Andrews; everyone there technically intercalates and then goes into clinical years at a choice of a few medical schools. Was just wondering if there were any third years on here going to Glasgow as that's the one I picked.

Ah that will be why. When I started 1st year I had a meeting with a senior advisor who did something like anatomy. Then around October they give you one more suited to your degree choice

The basic membership is £50 which lets you use all the sports equipment, swimming pool and some basic fitness classes.

On their website, it says that an extra fee applies if you want to join comes like karate or judo.

Participating in club sport is easy! First you must be a student at the University of Glasgow and a member of Sport & Recreation, then you can join any club. Clubs have a small joining fee which helps them cover their costs, this is usually £20-30 per year but varries between each club.

If you're from England, Wales or Northern Ireland it's £12.50 in the first year (with the welcome bursary)

I have a confusion here. My timetable shows that I have only 1 laboratory in psychology that too in the 1st week. Is that it? Only 1 laboratory in the whole semester??

No, you'll have 3 each semester, the first one you have the set time to do it, the other ones you just have to do within a set 3 week period.

Do you mean, when do you find out the exact dates for each subject's exam, or when is the last possible exam so you know when you can leave?
If it's the second one, 14th December for Christmas exams, 17th May for second semester ones (http://www.gla.ac.uk/media/media_194683_en.pdf). If it's the first one I don't actually remember when we found out.

They'll tell you when the exam timetables will be out. I think it's usually like a month before the first exam? But I'm totally guessing tbh.
Does anyone have a list of societies? I've only found a rubbish one.
I hear of a Mandarin society - do you have to speak Mandarin to join? Or can you join if you're a complete beginner eager to learn?
