No L3 geography trip to Mallorca this year, due to the FlyGlobespan collapse. Can't say I'm disappointed - although the sun was appealing, the ~£350 price wasn't.
Sun? Mallorca has sun? Never saw much of that last year! I hear it's now being done in Glasgow? How are they working that?

Yep it was voted 60-11 in favour of Glasgow. Field stuff around Glasgow between 9 and 6, and then presentations/group stuff (probably) in the East Quad. They say they're going to try and keep the social side of it - meals, nights out, evening get togethers etc. Any travel costs will have to be paid by us, which is completely fair, considering the saving vs. Mallorca.

Where were the other options? Are the topics still being kept the same?
Tbh, as a student who travels in, I probably wouldn't be too impressed with the set up, but not much could be done really.

Only two options - Mallorca (but we get there on our own, by any means) or Glasgow. I think they could have provided a compromise tbh - maybe somewhere in the UK that wouldn't be too expensive but still maintained the social side of things.
The department boobed by 'strongly recommending' booking with FlyGlobespan ASAP. OK, they couldn't have foreseen the airline's collapse, but EasyJet on the same route would have been a much safer option (and probably cheaper - I was quoted £70 return on Newcastle-Palma at the beginning of December, whereas others were being quoted £100+ with FGS from Glasgow at around the same time).

You could go to Swansea again Glasgow does sort of defeat some of the points for going abroad, like having to really think about what you are doing and how to do them.
Jinty's is nice, slightly less expensive than the rest of the lane. Radio isn't too bad either. Or Brel? Vodka Wodka is a bit clubby and is very expensive.
