Is there anybody who could tell me when lectures actually start and end?

I am just trying to work out my timetable and I really need to know that ... I will have lecturs at 11am, 12am and 13am.

Thank you very much!

They start at five past the hour, and end at five to - pretty sure this is the case for all subjects?

That's the general rule but of course it doesn't always work to time. I've been in lectures that go 10 mins over and lectures ending after 40 minutes. Some subjects have lectures lasting the whole hour but usually these are the ones where you have a uniquely structured year e.g medicine.

Of course you can just leave early if it's getting too close to the next lecture.

Ah that's good to know - I have German at 9 and History at 10 Tuesdays - Thursdays. Luckily, they are in adjacent rooms, so I can just switch across quickly if it happens to overrun, but nice to see that this shouldn't be a problem.
I'm not sure whether the fact that I have lectures at 11am (maths), 12pm (computing science) and 1pm (statistics) is an advantage or disadvantage.

What do you think, guys?

Advantage, in my opinion. It means you've basically only got three hours' in uni in that day. Obviously there'll be labs or tutorials or whatever in there too, but basically you're in and out with no significant waiting about.

I, on the other hand, have to wait from 11am until 5pm on a Monday.

I am worrying because in Germany you usually have teaching times which last 1 hour and 30 minutes BUT then you have 20 or 30 minutes break.

However, what you have just said makes sense. No waiting time.

nah, lectures usually last from 5 past till 5 minutes to, giving you a 10 minute break to get between lectures.
Since your maths, stats and computer science lectures will either be in the maths building, boyd orr or computer science building (i imagine) you have 10 minutes to jump into the QM and get a coffee or a sandwich usually and then go back to your lecture.
That said, I hate having 2 lectures in a row let alone 3...

i'd say it's a mistake, since he said 12am as well which is midnight...
Three in a row isn't awful really as long as they're not too far away.

Last year went like this for me on Tuesdays:

10am - English Lit in main building
11am - History, top floor of Adam Smith
12pm - English tutorial in uni gardens
1pm - Economics Lecture, top floor Adam Smith
2pm - Economics tutorial, same place as before

It was HORRID!

This year I have two lectures together at 1pm and 2pm three days a week but they're right beside each other
Yeah, it's fine as long as they aren't at opposite sides of the campus. Turning up late to every lecture gets old and tiring.

Is anyone going to the 1K Philosophy lecture tomorrow at 2pm?

Mine goes 11, 12 and 1. Or I can swap the 1 for another at 9am if I want to leave earlier.

i've got to run between the hetherington, to the art gallery, to boyd orr, but at least all my classes are in a row and i never have to get in before 12

how awkward is it to leave a lecture if you think you're going to miss the next one? do they make you feel bad or anything :p:
