The Student Room Group

Another year of GYG is over, another must begin

Hey everyone :wavey:

The 2020-2021 GYG competition finished a couple of weeks ago so this is your final reminder to update your blogs with any results you may have received before judging starts early next week!

A massive well done to everyone who got through this year  While it was clear this year wasn't going to be normal when we opened the competition, you've persevered through a lot of uncertainty and disruption and ought to be proud of yourselves for that :grouphugs:

The new GYG forum for this year should hopefully be opening next week and I notice some of you keen beans have already started up your blogs for next year which is super exciting to see :woo:

Wishing everyone the best with whatever you're up to this year and looking forward to reading lots of blogs over the next few weeks over the judging period :party2:

In the meantime if anyone has any suggestions for GYG next year feel free to post them in this thread too

Quoting almost everyone who posted in GYG last year (thank you all :cube:)

It’s a Grow Your Grades blog - there’s no specific format just whatever and whenever :h: If you’re making the blog this week then make it in this forum for now until the new one is made (there’s also loads of gygs in there if you want to check the format out)

It doesn't have to be a literal growing of grades. That's just a catchy name for the forum that stuck.
GL for this year!!
This will be the first year since 2012/13 that I am not sitting any exams

I've served my time  I've done two years of GCSE exams (RE/RS in year 9, the rest in year 11), two years of AS/A Level exams and then four years of university exams.

Hi! :hi:

Next year's GYG Forum isn't open yet, but you can still create your blog. If you click 'Ask a Question' on the top you can start writing about what your blog will be about and then post it. I recommend the forum 'Creative Corner' or '2020 - 2021 GYG Forum' but it's up to you.

After, you can edit your post and make it more attractive by clicking 'advanced'. There, you will get a selection of colours and font sizes.

Here are a few links to help:

BB Code:
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/misc.php?do=bbcode

Example blogs:
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=139
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6661910

You do not need to specifically name it GYG. We will move it for you once the new forum opens. :yy:

Let me know if you are still confused.
