unfortunately I have not but thankfully I have heard back from another waitlisted med school and received an offer so I’ve accepted that

@Keele Postgraduate thanks for the information, it’s a shame we got more valuable information from you than from the admissions themselves. Keele has not been very responsive this year with keeping applicants updated and have left most people waiting till last minute. However, thank you for taking the time out to answer our questions

No problem at all.

I'm sorry if you've found admissions to be unresponsive, or if the admissions process has been at any point unclear. I'll pass on comments and concerns in that regard from the thread to the admissions team as all feedback is welcome.

Amy

I'm sorry to hear you've all had such a tough time with admissions today :frown:
How are you all getting on - have you got plan Bs to put into action?

Would have also been very helpful if we knew our rankings on the waitlist like other universities.

I could take keele to court over what they’ve done to my mental health honestly. Lack of communication is astounding

If the course isn't in Clearing there's nothing you can do unfortunately :frown:
If you've decided to give up on medicine and do pharmacy other courses may be in Clearing?

has anyone else's evision account been wiped? It's honestly quite sad they had such a lack of communication throughout this year and yes its understandable that the process of going through each application is intense and time-consuming however several other universities have still been able to keep students updated.

@s_m2222 I’m convinced no one from the reserve list was given an offer and I’ve asked for my interview score and they aren’t responding to my emails, Keele has been really bad at communicating this year at least last year we got an email saying no offers are being made this year we’re left in the dark acc pathetic

Is this ur second time applying for medicine ? Are you planning to reapply ?

Reply 2850

@Unkown27 I’m assuming you’re talking to me, Yh it’s my second time applying and idk if I’m going to reapply. It’s been a draining 2 years and it’s only getting more competitive so it’s either another course or studying medicine in another country but idk yet

Reply 2851

@ash767 I can understand how stressful it must be but iam sure that next year will be the year for u , third time lucky and if not then u shud either try another course or apply to another country like u said. Keep trying.

Reply 2852

@Unkown27 thanks, wht about you? I remember you got into the PA course so are you going to reapply to medicine or do PA?? Good luck with whatever you do😃

Reply 2853

@ash767 iam not too sure myself , iam confused on whether to reapply or just go into non Russell group uni for pharmacy. I had AAAB so idk wat to do? What do U think I shud do ?

Reply 2854

@Unkown27 tbh I’m so unsure myself I don’t know what to advise you, but if it’s your second time applying like me and you don’t want to take another gap year maybe medicine abroad? If not then pharmacy is a good course but it’s known to be hard so only do it if you’ll enjoy it and you genuinely want to do it otherwise you’ll be demotivated and unhappy. Also, what about your PA offer? Do you not want to do it anymore? I think PA is a great course and more similar to medicine than pharmacy so give that a thought too. But give yourself time to think things through and then if your hearts still set on medicine then reapply! All the best with whatever you end up doing!

For those of you unsure, you don’t need to study a degree immediately out of college. I’m 30 now and just going into university studies. Often you can gain some incredible life experiences that will help you in your application. I’ve seen a lot of people getting onto medicine this year with previous life experience as HCA’s, HM Forces (Combat Medics) and other lines of work not related to medicine.

If you’re still set on doing medicine then maybe look at another stepping stone to get there that still lets you help people while earning a wage. Especially for Keele, where the Roles and Responsibilities form is everything. I applied for university while working full time and doing an access to medicine course, by the sound of it you already have the grades but need a little more experience to bump up your competitiveness. If your working full time there’s no rush to when you apply and the experience will inform you more about your desires to be a doctor.

I wish you all, all the best for the future and feel free to get in touch if you want to know more.

Has anyone asked for their interview score from the reserve list ? I’ve asked but they aren’t getting back to me ??

Reply 2857

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I just wanted to pop on and say I'm a third year medic at Keele, so let me know if you have any specific questions.
