Nothing yet… also getting nervous and checking portal 5 times a day religiously. According to last years thread, people were getting interviews well into jan

Hi, I got an interview last week from keele but it’s been a tough journey had 4 rejections last year with a 2900 ucat and after taking a gap year my ucat wasn’t great at all this year. It will be a hard journey but you’ll be fine good luck xx

Well done.

I think just getting an interview this year is a real achievement.

I suspect many med schools will be issuing interviews and offers with a very conservative mindset, mindful of grade inflation and everything else. I think the ‘reserve list’ mechanism is going to be deployed by many schools this year. What does everyone else think?

personally I don’t think they have time for all that. But I do think they will prioritise those with achieved grades....many missed offers last year which caused quite a few med schools to go into clearing or use reserve lists which simply doesn’t happen....especially with how unpredictable exams are at the moment

That’s interesting, i was led to believe that the problem with last year was that attainment was too high, so the med schools had misjudged the number of offers and were forced to offer extra places or even (as was the case at Exeter) pay students to defer.

(Don’t the schools get fined by Gov if they have to many students on their roles? Hence my comment about conservative (small c!) approach this year.

nope, last year people were getting interviews well into January so don’t feel down. You also have to remember they have a record number of applications this year and with R&R as well to score for 2800 applicants, it’s inevitably gonna take a lot of time

This happened to mine a few weeks back i rang admissions who gave me the name for IT but IT wasn’t that helpful and told me to email them then ignored my emails, but it fixed its self a few days later and appeared again so don’t stress too much, even though to me it looked like i had no application, the admissions lady could see my application so don’t worry you are still in the system!
