A-Levels for Cambridge Natural Science

I am looking to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge and wanted to know which combination of subjects is better:

a) Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics or
b) Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths

I would like to keep Chemistry, Maths and Biology, just unsure on the 4th options. Thanks!

Both combinations are perfectly acceptable. The better choice will depend on what you plan to choose in year 1.

Option b will be less work than option a.

If you do the further mechanics options in further maths, you will be able to take any of the first-year courses. Otherwise, the only one you'd not be able to take is the physics option. If you're planning on specialising in chemistry or biological sciences then it doesn't matter. Are you applying for NatSci at other unis or is your personal statement just for a specific subject?

I would say combination A), as Further Maths is useful for physics, but that is the one science that you would look to drop for option B). Don’t think FM would add much value for Bio and Chem
Hi @Yeet1608, you have already created this thread in a different forum. Please try to avoid creating multiple threads as it won't help you get an answer and makes things more confusing for other users.

I’m assuming you’re going to apply for bio natsci. In that case, the first option is probably better.
If you do Further Maths, you can study Computer Science, Chemical Engineering as well as Natural Sciences (Biological). But it's best to email the admissions tutors to seek advice whether you should offer AS-Level Physics too?!
