OKAY so proper update time!

Gonna take inspiration from DownRangeLion and write a list of all the things I'm meant to be doing. This won't be homework but rather a revision timetable

Monday:
CWK: History :cool: Did half-an-hour of reading
OTTR: The Bloody Chamber :cool: Did half-an-hour finding quotes
NTTR: Witchcraft :cool: Did 45 mins writing up some of the lessons

Tuesday:
CWK: Language
OTTR: The Tempest
NTTR: Language in the Media

Wednesday:
CWK: Literature
OTTR: Russian Revolution
NTTR: Language in the Media

Thursday:
CWK: History
OTTR: Language Paper One
NTTR: Witchcraft

Friday:
CWK: Language
OTTR: Unseen Gothic
NTTR: Witchcraft

ALSO: Figured out what I want to study at Uni! Found some amazing art history and visual culture courses [reality check resulted in admitting I suck at art ]
, I'm super proud of you! Art history sounds super cool! Fun fact; Eddie Redmayne studied art history

It's Friday tomorrow! :blow:

Thursday:
CWK: History :cool: Did fifteen minutes and have done almost half of the introduction's beginning
OTTR: Language Paper One :cool: Did fifteen minutes on Quizlet doing Topical issue revision
NTTR: Witchcraft :cool: Did forty-five minutes writing up lesson notes

Didn't have a full day in the end as one of my teachers (who I have for both lit and lang) is off ill :dontknow: so I'll be missing her lesson tomorrow too probably

Need to get on with my personal statement as our final draft is due on the 1st of October but the teacher I've been assigned happens to be the teacher currently off ill Any tips on doing one would be nice - I thought I'd know what to do by now seeing as this is about the fifth one I've done :confused:

Also! Mostly done the literature coursework due next week but it's gone up to around 1600 words and it's only meant to be around 1000. oops...
And of course, I have homework! Yay! But one or two study periods to do them in tomorrow and then three study periods on Monday

Update time because I forgot

Spoiler:

So I did the revision on Thursday but none on Friday / over the weekend.

BUT I have finalised my university choices and sent my personal statement to the teacher:

  • University of Exeter - Liberal Arts with study abroad (Ancient History Major)
  • University of Exeter - Flexible Combined Honours with study abroad (Mediterranean Studies and Religion)
  • University of Essex - Liberal Arts with Study Abroad
  • University of Leeds - Liberal Arts with Study Abroad (History or Cultural Studies major)
  • University of Kent - Liberal Arts

So what did I do today?
P1 - Study [History Homework due for Friday]
P2 + 3 - Study [Language Coursework - the analysis is a third done ]
p4 - English Language
I'm probably not going to do any revision today because I'm wiped from physio

Also I've done the other coursework deadlines

Plan for tomorrow:
P1 - English language [Child Language Acquisition]
P2 - English language [Language in the Media]
P3 - Study [Frankenstein revision]
P4 - English literature [Poetry]

Coursework - Language
OTTR - Language Paper One
NTTR - Witchcraft

but I now know what'll be on my November mocks:

Language:
Language in the media (Gender)
Language under the microscope
Comparing and contrasting texts

Literature Paper One:
Shakespeare (A + b)
Poetry comparison

Literature Paper Two:
Unseen Gothic
The Bloody Chamber and Frankenstein comparison

History:
Full Stuarts paper
Full Russia paper

Now I can better organise what to revise

UPDATE TIME! It's already halfway through this term :confused:

So First Up Coursework:
History - I did the 200 words but he scrapped that because the others complained he was going too fast to our other teacher
Literature - Handed in my draft and am currently around 600 words too long. We start our second piece tomorrow!
Language - finished the analysis and graph section to hand in tomorrow! Hopefully will have all language coursework done by Christmas!

Homework =>
History - C will set an essay at some point this week but I'll probably do it next week if it's not due to then
Language - L set us a transcript essay to do that's due on Thursday but all the theories etc. that I need are in my folder at school (They're doing mock inspections in the English department)

Revision Plan for this week:

Monday

  • Lit - Unseen Gothic
  • Lang - Language Under the Microscope
  • History - Russian Revolution
  • CWK - Literature

Tuesday

  • Lit - Frankenstein
  • Lang - 7 Frameworks
  • History - Stuart Britain
  • CWK - History

Wednesday

  • Lit - The Tempest
  • Lang - 7 Frameworks
  • History - Russian Revolution
  • CWK - Language

Thursday

  • Lit - Poetry
  • Lang - Comparing and Contrasting Texts
  • History - Stuart Britain
  • CWK - Literature

Friday

  • Lit - The Bloody Chamber
  • Lang - Language In The Media
  • History - Stuart Britain
  • CWK - History

Need to talk with my teachers about what they'll probably put as my UCAS predicted grade so I know whether to wait until after our mocks to submit my application or do it before the half-term.

SO! I made a mistake by looking up the provisional summer exam timetables

History: (Edexcel)
Paper 1 [Stuart Britain] - Thursday 26th May {AM - 2h 30m}
Paper 2 [Russian Revolution] - Friday 10th June {AM - 1h 30m}
Paper 3 [Witches] - Wednesday 22nd June {AM - 2h 15m}

Language: (OCR)
Paper 1 - Wednesday 25th May {AM - 2h 30m}
Paper 2 - Monday 6th June {PM - 2h 30m}

Literature: (OCR)
Paper 1 [Tempest, Rossetti and Doll's House] - Tuesday 7th June {AM - 2h 30m}
Paper 2 [The Gothic] - Wednesday 15th June {AM - 2h 30m}

So in order that looks like:
Language Paper 1 - Wednesday 25th May {AM - 2h 30m}
History Paper 1 [Stuart Britain] - Thursday 26th May {AM - 2h 30m}
HALF-TERM
Language Paper 2 - Monday 6th June {PM - 2h 30m}
Literature Paper 1 [Tempest, Rossetti and Doll's House] - Tuesday 7th June {AM - 2h 30m}
History Paper 2 [Russian Revolution] - Friday 10th June {AM - 1h 30m}
Literature Paper 2 [The Gothic] - Wednesday 15th June {AM - 2h 30m}
History Paper 3 [Witches] - Wednesday 22nd June {AM - 2h 15m}

So this week has been ... interesting...
One of my history teachers went home sick on Wednesday so we missed three lessons with her although she still set work
For a good 15 minutes of our first lesson on our double day, the teacher had to go deal with something and then cancelled our lesson on Friday [She's now the senior deputy head so she's got more on now]

And now it's week one once more!
So on Monday, my day looks like this:
P1 - Study (but missing it for physio)
P2 - Study
P3 - Study
P4 - Language (LS)

And now with four weeks until our mocks I've finalised my revision timetable (for the minute :rolleyes:) after not really following the one for this week But I still need to ask my teachers about my UCAS predicted grades because I'd rather get my application sent off sooner rather than later.

This week's tasks:

Monday
The Bloody Chamber - Themes
Language Under the Microscope - Plan practice
Russian Revolution - Topic One Revision

Tuesday
Poetry - Themes
Comparing and Contrasting Texts - Plan practice
Stuart Britain - Topic One Revision

Wednesday
Unseen Gothic - Motifs + how to structure an answer
Language In the Media - Theories
Russian Revolution - Topic Two Revision

Thursday
The Tempest - Key Quotes
Language Under the Microscope - Write Up Practice
Stuart Britain - Topic Two Revision

Friday
Frankenstein - Key Quotes
Language In the Media - Theories
Russian Revolution - Topic Three Revision

The seriousness and closeness of these mocks are starting to hit and I forgot how much I hate the stress I cause myself by convincing myself they're the most important exams ever Luckily I have volunteering tomorrow to focus on that instead.
Also! I'm super close to getting a job! I've applied for a local Christmas job and just going through the checks so now have to wait for a DBS check (which can take over two weeks I really want this job too!

UPDATE TIME! AND IT'S FRIDAY!

First things first - so the DBS check took like two days and I've been offered a job but for the wrong shift pattern and there's no way to contact them to change it (The application only allowed the option of 'Weekend' but they advertise two different shift patterns :confused:). Anyway, I've applied for more jobs so just have to wait and see :dontknow:

Homework for this weekend: [But also need to do some coursework too]
Comparison poetry essay (due 14/10/21) --> Started
Witches section A essay (due by 14/10/21)

Revision-wise I've actually stuck to the plan! I'm super proud of myself! Unfortunately, we still don't have timetables for the mocks though and all our teachers keep asking about them :bird: Also I (unofficially) get the day off next Friday as it's focus day and they've told us what we'll be doing and wouldn't you know it? It's all useless for me :innocent:

I spoke to one of my English language teachers about my UCAS predicted grade and she said to wait and see what happens with the mocks so I will as I'm not in a rush to send my application off because my referee has just gone off ill (probably covid) and will likely not be back this half-term. Based on my year 12 mocks I'll likely only get a B in Literature, and a B (possibly an A but that's a bit unlikely) but I'm hoping to be predicted an A in English language so fingers crossed I do well on my mocks :crossedf:.

So, next week:

Monday
Stuarts - Topic Three Revision
Comparing and Contrasting Texts - write-up practice
Poetry - key quotes

Tuesday
Russia - Topic Four Revision
LUTM - 7 Frameworks revision
TBC - Key quotes

Wednesday
Stuarts - Topic Four Revision
LITM - 7 Frameworks revision
Gothic - revision and planning practice

Thursday
Russia - Question One planning practice
C + C Texts - 7 Frameworks revision
Tempest - Themes in the play

Friday
Stuarts - Topic Five Revision
LITM - Planning practice
Frankenstein - Key quotes

Hope I get my homework done because I have very few frees study periods next week!

TIME FOR THE WEEKLY UPDATE!

Annoyingly I didn't keep up with revision properly on wednesday, thursday or friday because period 5 + back problems after physio is not fun
BUT we now have our exam timetables! So...

Monday 1st November:
Language Exam at 11am for 2 hours + 30 minutes [Language Under the Microscope, Language In the Media, and Comparing and Contrasting Texts]

Tuesday 2nd November:
Literature Exam at 10:45am for 2 hours + 30 minutes [Tempest (A + B) and Poetry Comparison]

Wednesday 3rd November:
History Exam at 2pm for 2 hours + 15 minutes [Stuart Britain]

Thursday 4th November:
Literature Exam at 10:45am for 2 hours + 30 minutes [Unseen Gothic and Comparison of The Bloody Chamber and Frankenstein]

Friday 5th November:
History Exam at 8:40am for 1 hour + 30 minutes [Russian Revolution]

We also got our reports on Friday but for some reason English Literature wasn't on there?
For English Language my predicted grade was a B
For History my predicted grade was an A
I'm hoping to send my UCAS Application off this week so these are likely going to be my predicted grades on there (Lit will probably be a B)

Now that is all sorted I've reorganised my revision plans for the next two weeks.

Monday
Literature - Unseen Gothic Practice
Language - Language In the Media Practice
History - Stuarts Question One Practice

Tuesday
Literature - The Bloody Chamber Revision (specifically quotes)
Language - Revision of the Seven Frameworks
History - Russia Question One Practice

Wednesday

Language - Theory Revision
History - Stuarts Question Two Revision

Thursday
Literature - Comparison Practice
Language - Language Under The Microscope Practice
History - Russia Question Two Practice

Friday
Literature - Full Paper Two Practice
Language - Comparing and Contrasting Texts Practice

Homework Wise:
