Is it ok to switch to your local team?

I know a lot of people say that you shouldn't switch teams once you've picked.

But I wonder if it's OK to switch from say a PL team to your local through if coming to realise that the latter is more meaningful.

I started supporting West Ham first when I got into football at the beginning this year, since my dad (from Somerset) also follows that team since '75, but my local team is Bristol City.

Is it ok under that circumstance? And I wouldn't jump on the wagon if either West Ham or City under perform, so it can't be glory hunting. I would still follow West Ham no matter what happens.
Yes, perfectly fine.
Yeah, it’s normally glory supporting that people have an issue with.
Nothing wrong with that. Known a few people who supported one of the Premier League big boys when they were young and ended up converting to a local team who played at a lower level, because it was more meaningful. Football teams represent their local area and community, so if you have that shared identity why not.

No, the FA will come round your house and bang you out if you do this.
Yep, is allowed imo
