Civil Service fast stream 2022

Couldn't find a thread for the upcoming application cycle anywhere, so thought I would start it. What is everyone thinking of applying to?

Does anyone know when applications actually open

Is this fast stream for graduates https://www.faststream.gov.uk/ says noon 23rd September.

They have quite few YouTube videos were ex fast streams share their personal experience. Definitely worth watching.

I am thinking Digital, Data, Technology & Cyber or Human Resources. I believe (can't recall) I have applied in the past but I always fail those initial online tests so may give it a miss.

I'm not sure if someone will make a big thread like for 2020/2021 to discuss.

I'm going to apply! I think that the FS are doing some Q&A webinars at Universities over the next few months, so well worth a look

Yes - thank you so much! You should definitely apply regardless. Have you tried practicing using GradFirst or other test providers? Good luck!

Hi everyone!
I have spent some time trying to find information on the online tests and even did a practice one on JobTestPrep, but I scored very badly and don't know where to go from here in terms of tips or information. Does anyone have any advice on where to find more info on specifically the civil service online tests, or good websites to use for practice?
hey guys, does anyone know if we can apply for more than one scheme?

Yes up to four it seems
How many schemes can I select?
You can select up to four schemes, provided you are eligible for them. You need to specify your preferences in the order you want them to be considered, as you will not be able to add to or change your preference order once you have selected them. If you are successful in your application to your first preference scheme you will be appointed to that scheme; if you are not successful to your first preference scheme you will be considered for schemes in order of your preferences. So, please choose the order of your schemes carefully!

Please note: you can withdraw from a scheme you have selected but only before you are invited to the Fast Stream Assessment Centre (FSAC). Once you have been invited to FSAC you will be unable to withdraw from any scheme. We therefore encourage you to select your scheme preferences carefully, focusing on eligibility requirements for each scheme and researching the information available.

They added a new fast stream, Property. I've only heard vague concerns about piloted streams in the past, wondering if anyone has some more detailed insight into the problems that people have encountered joining previously piloted or discontinued streams?

I think the Property stream ran last year as well, as I kept seeing it on the website when checking it throughout 2021

Does anyone know if you have to do numerical reasoning tests for diplomatic stream. The website says definitely do for commercial and financial but I had it in my head you had to do it for all of them? thanks

No only certain schemes require you to complete numerical reasoning tests. I'm not sure if diplomatic does or not but if it doesn't say then probably not.

Opens tomorrow. Anyone going to stick this thread?
I literally just applied for Human Resources, Digital, Data, Technology & Cyber and Project Delivery. I applied for just HR last year but failed at the second test stage unfortunately.

Those would be my choices too.

I've just applied for Diplomatic and Development, Project Delivery, Houses of Parliament and Property. I'm hoping that using the full four scheme preferences won't make it seem like I'm not as interested in my top choice..:s-smilie:

They don't really look at preferences. The main thing with preferences is certain schemes take longer to release results and could delay you hearing about some of your others.
