I have received a letter in the post and it’s “signed for” Royal Mail. Couldn’t be delivered as I wasn’t in? It’s a4, could this be a certificate or a reminder to have my gas meter checked! Any other realistic ideas?

Utility letters wouldn't be A4, they are folded smaller. Are you expecting a certificate?

Why can't you just collect it or rearrange delivery?
