Look at these suggestions from Cambridge :
https://www.undergraduate.study.cam....uggestions.pdf
and Warwick : https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/maths/...ug/read_list2/

Remember that you need to discuss the ideas and not just list the books.

Black Swan - Taleb
Norm Chronicles - Spiegelhalter ( read this when I was ~16ish so can’t remember much of it)

Factfulness - Rosling (Not particularly financey but very good for giving u a better world view/ importance of stats)

Where else are you applying as not sure many courses will be as specialised as this?

Am applying for economics at Cambridge, UCL and still deciding between a few more. I've tried to find the best balance between economics and maths, often interlinking them both, including different statistics supercurricular learning I have done which forms a major part of both Econ and MwS degree. Any advice or thoughts on this?

Think about whether you actually like Maths haha

I would guess if you are looking for a joint degree you might not enjoy or at least have not experienced the style of uni maths. It is very different to school and imo often hard to see the overlap into economics as i’ve mainly used more stats style stuff. Might change between courses tbf

I personally do MORSE but as a result of coming to uni, don’t do maths modules anymore (part of course structure is you have a lot of freedom!)

Have you read any maths books already? If not then start with books by Rob Eastaway ... 'Why do buses come in threes?' for example.

I was also considering applying for economics at Cambridge and maths and stats for finance at imperial but feared imperial would reject me if I explicitly mention wanting to study economics. Does anyone have any experience regarding how imperial see personal statements that include economics?
