If things ended rocky with an ex, like a bad argument or with hurtful words. Do you need to sort it out and end it nicely or just move on if it’s too complicating and dragging on?

Best to end on reasonably civilised terms if possible.
But if the ex is acting vile, has done something illegal or the breakup is very acrimonous- best to just end the relationship & cut all contact.
Possibly changing all contact info and closing down social media accounts or turning them all to private.
