I start uni in less than 2 weeks and I still can't seem to find a place to stay, I didn't rush into it as I thought there would be plenty of rooms available due to worldwide restrictions with COVID but it seems as if I'm wrong and now I'm in a mess.

Do rooms usually free up once the term starts (i.e people drop out etc.) or am I screwed ?

I do have one place kind of booked but I really don't like it and the others I want say they are fully booked, does anyone have advice on trying to find rooms like that.

Sorry for this jumbled post, I'm in a huge panic

Yes rooms do usually get freed up in the first weeks/months of term. If you can’t find anything that you like then finding a short term room that isn’t terrible would be a good choice. That will give you the flexibility to take over the tenancy from someone who is leaving and needs to find a replacement.
