is a traineeship basically unpaid work experience? also, the description says i have to be qualified below level 4 - has this changed as traineeships used to ask to be qualified below level 3?

yes a traineeship is basically unpaid work experience. Its like a stepping stone to a apprenticeship. The traineeship levels are from level 4 and upwards as you have to be level 3 qualified (e.g. a levels, btec nationals, level 3 apprenticeship etc) as it says on the gov website. I'm not sure of what they used to be but the requirements for a traineeship are:

You can apply for a traineeship if you’re:
eligible to work in England
have little or no work experience but are motivated to work
aged 16 to 24 - or 25 with an EHC plan - and qualified up to level 3

Here is more info if needed: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/trainees...n-for-trainees
