Hi, was just wondering if there were any advantages (in terms of getting in) with doing the October submission for ucas rather than January
No.
The October deadline is simply for 'early applicants', those applying to Oxford or Cambridge or any Medicine, Veterinary Science or Dentistry Course.
However, do consider getting your application out as fast as you can, as some universities begin giving out offers in the order they receive them while others wait till after their respective deadlines. Definitely don't rush unless you are an early applicant
There is no advantage with an early application - you are not 'more likely' to get an offer and Unis do not 'run out of offers'.
You may get an earlier decision but that is not guaranteed.
The only advantage is that UCAS is then 'done' and you can just focus on A levels.
