Wasn’t staying at my uni for first year so this is my first time in halls (as a second year). Don’t have any second year friends because of COVID and making things online so hoping to meet new people this year. When I do meet new people, should I mention the fact i’m a second year or will people find that weird? Btw I’m 20 so will be about 2 years older than most people.

Hi!

I don't think this is weird at all. I think it's a good idea considering how last year went. I wouldn't be afraid to mention that you're in your second year, as they're bound to find out later anyway.
I went into halls being almost 2 years older than some and found it fine. You'll find a lot of people do gap years or join university at a later age. There were some in my halls that were 25. Given your age though and that you'll be in your second year, you might be housed with people in a similar situation to you, as some universities do this.

I hope this helps!
Best wishes
