BA Politics or BA Politics and International Relations

Hi I’m due to study BA Politics at uni soon. Is there a difference between the two? Do employers prefer BA Politics and International Relations?

Very simply, International Relations is about relations between states - this can be theoretically, historically or through more contemporary examples. Politics is about the political systems of individual countries. You may find you can take IR modules as electives during your Politics degree (I did IR and had the opportunity to pick Politics electives).

The difference in degrees won't make the slightest bit of difference to employers. They want to see that you can write a strong CV, cover letter/personal statement, answer the questions if they use psychometric tests, have some real world experience beyond your degree.
