Doctors. Folliculitis advice.

Folliculitis started about 3 weeks ago. Started small but has enlarged since. Wasn't bothered until it started leaking pus, blood and clear discharge. Good or bad sign? Any advice?
Speak to your GP or 111. Or maybe even get a pharmacist to have a look at it.

Firstly go and get a GP appointment or go to chemist any speak to the pharmacist ok. There's over the counter treatment available from chemists but best to speak to the pharmacist about this.

Clean the affected skin.
Gently wash the infected skin twice a day with antibacterial soap. Use a clean washcloth and towel each time and don't share your towels or washcloths. Use hot, soapy water to wash these items. And wash clothing that has touched the affected area.

What kills folliculitis.........
Doctors can treat severe folliculitis with a prescription-strength antifungal or antibiotic ointment. They can also prescribe a medicated shampoo that relieves itching, and helps kill infectious microbes. Eosinophilic folliculitis may become a chronic, but mild condition.

What aggravates folliculitis...........
You may get folliculitis if you have damaged hair follicles. Shaving or wearing clothes that rub the skin can irritate the follicles, which can lead to folliculitis. They also can become blocked or irritated by sweat, machine oils, or makeup. When the follicles are injured, they are more likely to become infected.

What happens if you leave folliculitis untreated.....…....
If folliculitis is left untreated, boils (or skin abscesses) can develop. As the hair follicle becomes deeply infected, the boil will come to a head and may drain. The boil may be painful and red. A large cluster of boils may also appear as many follicles become infected

Should I pop folliculitis bumps.............
Don't cut, poke, or squeeze the sores. This can be painful and spread infection. Don't scratch the affected area. Scratching can delay healing.

How do you cure folliculitis fast......... Home remedies.....
A warm, moist compress can help soothe soreness, swelling, and pain. ...
Aloe vera gel may help heal the skin faster. ...
You can find hydrogen peroxide in the first aid aisle of your local pharmacy. ...
Over-the-counter antibiotic creams, gels, and ointments may help clear up a small patch of folliculitis.
