I'm applying as an international student to the UK for medicine and I've heard that universities will look at the order of your preferences? So I'm not sure how to order my choices which include: Oxford, Imperial, UCL and King's College London

That's untrue. When you submit your application universities don't know where else you have applied.

Each Uni can only see that you have applied to THEM.

You list them alphabetically anyway so be aware that what you are hearing is not accurate

yes exactly, and we don't even need to send application to other uni's at Oxbridge deadline

Until about 20 years ago applicants did have to list in priority order - but not any more.
Clearly many parents/teachers/schools have not realised that things have changed !

UCAS puts your 5 choices in alpha-order on your record - and Unis dont see where else you applied until after you have recieved all your Uni decisons and you have made your Firm/Insurance choices. So it doesnt make any difference what order you put them in - or where else you apply.

Unis don't see where else u've applied. Only when u receive ur offers u choose firm and insurance, the uni will know whether it's ur firm or not but not where else u've applied
