Hi all,

I just got my award in the Master of Science in Social Policy with a distinction, it feels so surreal as I counted up my total grade to be 69.50 which is technically a merit rather than distinction.

I don’t want to celebrate as I feel as though the Board of Examiners will take my grade back, and give me a merit. Is this possible? I’m petrified to feel good about this.

usually marks with decimals are rounded up for 0.5 and above so your mark would be 70 and therefore distinction

If your award has been released, it's been to the board of examiners already, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Many universities have a policy of rounding up, so that seems to have happened in your case.
