Hello guys, I was worried about applying for university, I am currently in year 13 doing BTEC Level 3 in Information Technology as Diploma which is equivalent to 2 A levels and a BTEC Level 3 in Business as extended certificate which is equivalent to 1 A level and might do Italian as A level, I think by the end I would get in IT: D*D and in Business: D* and in Italian an A*. I wanted to apply to a university for a computer science degree either in a Russel group or a in a top 100 ranking, I have called a few unis and they said I need an A level with the Diploma but I'm doing another single business. Can anyone please help me? when I called them I did not tell them that I would be doing Italian as A level.

I have answered this on your other thread. Nearly all leading universities INSIST on grade A A level Maths in addition to a BTEC. Here is an example from Bristol.

D*DD in EITHER Engineering BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent), OR any Applied General BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent). Applicants taking Engineering BTEC may be invited to take the University of Bristol Maths test in place of A-level Mathematics.

So you mean I would not be able to apply for this degree, is there any other degree I could apply for? as I am really worried I will not find a uni. my school really messed it up not gonna lie.

I'm just asking a question what is wrong with you
You also bumped a 2 year old thread which was unrelated to your situation. I wouldn’t have answered you there if I was aware you’d already received guidance as above.

If you stick to one thread in the appropriate forum, you’ll get the advice that you need.

Not in a leading university. CS is very Mathematical almost a Maths degree. The ones I listed are your best options. These are the ones not requiring A level Maths. and probably the best universities that you can get into without A level Maths. There will be others but they wont be RG or a top university. You could look at a different subject or whether someone will allow you to do a foundation year but the nature of the course in top universities means they wont accept you without the relevant Maths qualification.

Oh okay, thanks. I will look at a different subject, but don't know which is the best for me and with the qualifications I have.
