My daughter started studying GCSE Astronomy last year but she gave up after a few months.
It's heavy on physics, albeit astrophysics, and that's something she really dislikes and finds very difficult. She loves everything to do with space, so she had been hoping to enjoy the astronomy course, but she just couldn't wrap her head around all the physics which was disappointing.

In short, if you enjoy physics, go for it. If not, you'll probably find it quite hard.
