I’m a 22yr old female and I'm about 8st5lb, 5′5, super unfit as I've a sedentary lifestyle so I want to start exercising, swimming I think then maybe a sports club once my stamina is up. However I'm worried about body changes, I'm slim but I have a fair amount of fat in my bum and thighs and I don't want to lose this. I think that would cause issues with my body image and I'm recently at a point where I like my body and feel confident. Will swimming an hour or two a week change my bum/thighs? I just don't want my bum to get smaller. I eat a pretty balanced diet generally, if I eat more calories (which I probably will since I will be hungry from swimming) will this prevent it if so? Any advice appreciated, thank you!

Exercising will tone the body, especially swimming because all the body muscles will move.

So I think you should go for it
