can i use my academic reference if i apply independently

hello! i’m resitting an a level in october & hoping to withdraw and apply again for 2022 and my school hasn’t got back to me yet so i was wondering if i apply without linking my application to my school, for the reference, can i still use the academic one from last year?

If you apply through the school then they will use the same reference and update it if necessary.

Only your referee can provide the reference. Even as an individual you need to nominate a referee who will add your reference.
You can’t add your own reference.
