Grades are usually more important than the subjects you do. So an A in history should be better than a B in chemistry if you meet the rest of the requirements. So as long as you do the subjects that are required by your chosen uni, you can pick whatever you want for your 3rd (unless they specifically say they don't accept something).
A lot of medicine applicants choose a humanity as their 3rd AH/A-level too.
