I've seen many people include in their personal statements a family member having an illness and how this encouraged them to be a doctor or something like that.. how would you write this and making sure its relevant?

Tbh i wouldnt start a personal statement like that. As you stated, alot of people are already doing this and its important that your personal statement is so different that it actually stands out to the admissions! Just be really honest about what genuinely inspired you.. not just writing and including things simply because other people have.

Best wishes

You don't need to say how you became interested in being a doctor, focus on the why now
