Hi,
I chose university because I (M21) have social anxiety and have been friendless since age 16. I decided I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone, improve my confidence and make friends.

I arrived on sep 11th (start of my freshers week) and enjoyed the nightclubbing for the first time but I feel like I really don’t enjoy being in accommodation and my flat mates.

I feel very unhappy and have cried several times. I really don’t feel comfortable here. I don’t think being at uni is for me and I really want to drop out but I’m just wondering, where else could I hang around in order to become friends with others my age?

My aspiration in life is to start a reasonably successful business and I’m confident , I don’t really believe that I need a degree for that. I just think to myself what would I do outside of running my business if I have no friends? Where else can I meet people in life??

I feel like a huge failure in life as multiple people have whispered about me that I have no personality and I’m boring (which I suppose is true).

I’m an introvert. I don’t particularly like socialising unless necessary although I would love just one friend at least.

Sorry for rambling but what do I do 😢😢

Have you tried joining some university societies to meet new people and find new hobbies?

Try not to go into every situation dwelling on having 'no friends', as that might make you seem unapproachable and anti-social.
