Hi all,

My daughter is in the process of applying for her first provisional license.

She has a UK passport and NINO, but the UK passport is from 4 years ago and her appearance (and signature) has changed quite a bit since then.

If she were to state her passport number and NINO but chose not to use her photo from the passport, will she be required to send in her passport?

Can't seem to get this information anywhere but I'd like to know before she applies as we have a couple of trips coming up, and given the workload and backlog of DVLA I'm uncertain when I'll get it back.

Thanks in advance.

If you're using the passport as proof of her identity, they will want you to mail them the passport or upload pictures of it (including the photo) if you're applying online. A NINO isn't proof of identity.

When I applied for my provisional, I just sent them my birth certificate and a photo that had been countersigned.
