Hello fellow students!

I am going as a private candidate for my IGCSE's, for that I have planned to apply through the British Council and they work with two exam boards: Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel.

Now uptill now I only knew about Cambridge International but now that I got to know about Pearson Edexcel I got very confused as to which one I should go for? My main priorities are as listed below:

1. Quality of education
2. Worldwide Recognition
3. Self Study Friendly
4. Help available easily online
5. Practicality in curriculum

My subjects are relevant to business which in the case of Cambridge International would be:

1. Accounting
2. Business Studies
3. Economics

And in the case of Pearson Edexcel they would be:

1. Accounting
2. Business
3. Commerce
4. Economics

Eagerly waiting for your help!

Glowing Regards,
Abdullah Asim

It makes no difference which one you choose in terms of quality or recognition. Both CAIE and Edexcel IGCSEs are equally as respected as each other.

Look at the syllabi of both exam boards for each subject, and see which appeals to you the most.

Also your chosen exam centre might influence your decision, as they may accommodate one but not the other. If they accommodate both, then it's just personal preference.

Thanks a lot! I'll go for Cambridge in that case. Issue solved ☺️

I currently study the Edexcel syllabus and I would recommend you to chose that.

However, both syllabus are equally and highly recognized qualifications and there would not be any setback if you chose either of them.

It all depends on your liking on the syllabus. Most importantly, make sure you enjoy!

Enjoy your education
