It is literally all that the media have been talking about. That and Rayners horrendous mouth.
Low and behold, right wing papers will give more coverage to opposition in-fighting than they do opposition policy. Hardly surprising.

Er, sure? Given how most papers in the country are right wing or lean right wing, and how such papers will usually report on rows rather than policy, naturally a majority of the paper coverage will be on the in-fighting. In any case this is irrelevant to the idea that Labour don't have any policy and only care about identity politics, both of which are demonstrably false.

Not really. Given that identity politics have dominated the headlines for Labour for over a year. That’s the issue. You might not see that. You might know what Labour stands for, but your swing voter doesn’t have the foggiest. Criminals and misfits would be my best guess.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that the usual swing voter won't have a clue what Labour stand for. I've said it before, but Labour have been terribly poor in communicating their policies to the public; certainly the recent rows and comments haven't helped them. The point I am addressing, though, is not whether Labour have been effective communicators but rather if they have any 'non-identity' policies at all, which you seem believe isn't the case

I hear labour have revived their policy to get more police on the beat & track.

This is not new from labour, im sure you all remember when labour MP Dianne Abbot carefully calculated it would cost somewhere between £300K & £80m annually to hire 10,000 police officers.

If you think Starmer is a socialist then you'll believe anything.

"An aide to Ms Reeves told the BBC the £28bn would come from government borrowing and the investment should "have a positive impact" on the wider economy."

Once again, Labour promise to spend money that they can't afford. They didn't even bother to attempt to say that taxes will cover it. They'll literally just add it onto the debt.
I think it's fair to say no British political party is fiscally responsible and probably haven't been for some time.

Except of course the emphasis of the Labour Party conference has not been on identity politics. It is a sideshow.

Yet it gets blown out of all proportion by people who are fixated with identity politics.
Spot on.

The Labour Party has a large number of self-confessed socialists. I really fail to understand why this isn't akin to being a self-confessed Nazi.

I find it laughable. This is the same party that had a branch of its MPs campaigning to stop a plane full of criminals, murderers and rapists leaving this country. How anyone can think they’ll be tough on crime is beyond me.

My respect for Keir is starting to go up a bit. After a pretty uninspiring start, at least he's starting to show a little bit of backbone. However, I'm unsure if it will be enough.

I think the essay thing Keir did was a bit stupid though. Everyone thinks Labour manifestos are just a book of dreams. Keep it simple and sweet, the first term will just be proving Labour can be trusted to govern sensibly (if they can ever win that is).

The main problem with Labour is its members, who quite often are on the extreme left, and the Corbynist MPs still trying to cause trouble. He needs to be brutal now; he's already upset the hard left, so he might as well finish the job.

This while Rose Duffield saga is precisely what puts people off from voting Labour. While there's no fuel, no drivers and dealing with the aftermath of covid and Brexit - but all Labour insiders want to talk about is a Cervix, says it all.

Do you think down the local social club or pub inside The Red Wall there worried about who identifies as having a Cervix or not?!!

Party conference in disarray. All sparked by trans discussion about the MP Rosie Duffield being too afraid to attend the conference over comments she’s made.

It’s absolutely not transphobic to suggest that only women have cervix’s. Which is what this whole row is about. Let’s get that out the way, it’s not.

Starmer however, hasn’t held that view, he couldn’t answer the question, and this morning, neither could Rachel Reeves who was an absolute embarrassment to the party on an interview. Laughable really.

First it’s the working class Labour have alienated, now it’s women. It’s just the gift that keeps on giving. When you have a government as incompetent as this one and you’re still focusing on petty little things like this; it’s just laughable.
What is it you're asking us to discuss?

Labours incompetence.

We’ve had three pages of it though. Take your admin work elsewhere.
