What I will say is most of the nicer beaches like Rhossili, Three Cliffs, Langland, Caswell and Oxwich are a bus ride away. The Gower has 31 beaches but those are probably the most popular. An hours drive takes you into the Brecon Beacons mountains and also an hour away is Cardiff with Wales largest shopping centre.

labs are pretty decent i did chem and bio a level so i checked out the labs they are really good. I love nature too main reason I came swansea, there are so many hikes and cool places to explore in wales, everywhere usually takes an hour on the bus. I live in town and things are really close shops and services etc, swansea beach is nice to take walks but DONT SWIM IN THERE, you can go to one of the bays along the coast they really are beautiful.
in terms of swansea uni accommodation personally i wouldn't recommended only because there is only like 2 restaurants and a small tesco.
